"Ok lets get this show on the road. Markus, you are with me." Alucard said, watching Markus stroke the spirit wolf he had summoned in boredom. He approached Azrael. "Can we get this show on the road please?" he asked.

Azrael smiled at Alucard.
"Alright. Promise me you'll come out of this alive dude, my life will be hell without you," Azrael replied. He didn't wait for an answer, as he knew no one could make such a promise.
"To the show!" Azrael said, walking out of the building.

Damaris sighed and lay back on the sofa. She'd been in the Circle, or rather the Night Watch, as they were called now, for about two months now. As far as she could remember, it was the longest time she'd stayed in one place since she'd left home. And it had been an eventful couple of months, too.
Since she'd arrived in the town, she'd managed to fight off what she now knew was a half-demon, kill two men, lose and then rescue a 7 year old lycan, and get involved with the Watch. Still, it made a nice change to be around people who knew what she was and accepted her anyway. And since she'd been here, she'd started training with Austin to control her changes. It was difficult, especially since she'd spent so long blocking out her emotions altogether. Learning to contol them instead felt like being thrown into the ocean after spending years away from water.
It was even more difficult with Jaden around. There was something about him that made her shiver, in a good way. She felt shy around him, although she couldn't have said why. He made her feel eighteen again, in a girly, giggly way. His eyes carried the same careworn look that she felt her own must have. And he was her own age, too. Compared to most of the people in the Watch, she felt old. Ok, Austin was much older than her, but he didn't look it.
She closed her eyes and smiled, brushing her hair off her face. She'd finally found happiness again.

Damaris opened her eyes, let out a long breath and stood up. She stretched her arms and legs, and brushed a stray hair away from her face.
I wonder what everyone else is up to She wondered. Despite being there two months already, she hadn't really made any friends yet. Still, it couldn't do any harm to try and make some. It would make a nice change from the last decade or so.
She'd seen Adrienne and Cindy going in to the gym, it could be worth seeing if they minded her joining them. She was dressed in her usual dark linen trousers and loose cotton shirt anyway, so she'd be ok to do a workout or something. (Luckily, Edgehaven had some half-decent clothes shops, so she'd managed to get rid of the bloodstained, ripped clothes she'd arrived in.)
She stretched again and headed to the gym.
