Continued from the Devil's Advocates
Austin turned the van into 14th Street and slowed to a stop infront of the garage. Fumbling on the dashboard, he found the remote that opened the door and pressed the button. The door rose slowly and he drove the van into the garage and turned off the engine.
"well... we're home"

Damaris let go of the buzzer and waited. After a few seconds, when nobody answered, she tried it again. She hoped that there would be somebody there, she didn't fancy standing out in the street all night. A part of her was glad she'd found Markus because, if it came to that, at least she would be out in the street with someone to talk to.

Markus sighed as he put out his cigarette.
"There's usually at least one person home. I wonder where they all are..." He went on, slowly wandering away, then coming back in a hurry.
"I think I heard a vehicle pull in to the back. Give it a minute and ring it again" He said, looking rather excited.

Alucard yawned as he climbed out the van.
"Let me know when you're heading to the pub or whatever... I'll be in my room." He said, walking into further the HQ.

Alucard wondered past the enterance when he heard the buzzer. He got to the door and just opened it, entirely forgetting protocol. He was slightly hunched over as he opened the door, yawning and trying to recognise the guests. He saw the woman from the enterance at the Devil's Advocates HQ and his own dear brother. He rolled his eyes.
"You have your own place to bring women back to Markus" He said with a smirk as opened the door further. "But the sofa is free, so you could have that I suppose"

Damaris smiled as she recognized Alucard.
"Hi." She said, stifling a yawn herself. She looked at Markus sidelong, and then back at Alucard.
"Uh.. right. Austin said to meet him here, and I ran into your brother. He was just showing me the way..." She explained, uncomfortably aware of the conclusion Alucard had come to.

Cindy climbed out of the van, checking her hair in a pocket mirror. It had been an exhAusting day, but that was no reason to slack on appearances.
She watched everybody file into their rooms, and then decided she should probably head for her car and go home. After all, they hadn't given her a room yet...

Jaden got out of the van and sighed. He slowly made his way towards his room but stopped when he heard Alucard talking to someone. He thought it best to go check out what he was up to. He saw him at the front door talking to someone, a woman by the sounds of it.
He went to turn when Alucard shifted and he got a glimpse of the woman and he thought his heart would leap out of he chest. Outside the HQ stood an angel, Jaden's heart began to pulse furiously and all weariness was forgotten. In that one instant he knew he had found what he had been seeking all his life, his soulmate.
He took a deep breath and strode forward. "Alucard need any help?" He asked, trying to cover himself and not look like an idiot. He joined him at the front door and saw that the woman was with Alucard's brother Markus.
"Markus." Jaden said inclining his head, "Come in, come in." he moved out of the way letting them past. "I don't believe I know you." Jaden said smiling at the ginger woman. "But any friend of Markus is welcome here."

Damaris glanced at the newcommer, not paying him much attention. Then she looked again. It was possibly the first time in her life she'd actually done a double take. She noticed immediately the way he was looking at her, and blushed visably. The sudden rush of emotions stirred her inner wolf, and she struggled to remain calm.
She smiled, stepping inside the building. As she walked past him, she caught his scent and her brow furrowed in puzzlement. Under the smell of blood and sweat, he smelt like a vampire, but also like a human... she'd never come across that strange combination before.
She turned, shyly, and studied him. He was attractive, there was no doubt about that, but he was careworn and world-weary. Damaris guessed him to be about her own age, but the years showed on his face in a way they couldn't on hers.
She smiled, and extended a hand awkwardly. "Damaris." She said quietly, by way of introduction. She was suddenly very aware that her hair was a mess, she was missing a sleeve and that one leg was covered in blood, not to mention the mud all over her coat. The fact that he was in a worse state than her didn't register.

"Damaris." Jaden said the name smiling. "Jaden Kalen." He said going to take her hand then suddenly noticing that his hand and indeed all of him was covered from head to toe in dried blood. He quickly snatched his hand away.
"One second." he said running to his room. He quickly filled the small sink and washed off as much of the blood on his face and hands as he could. He glanced up into his shaving mirror, he looked terrible, he wished he had time to shower and shave. He sighed and left the room.
"Sorry about that." He said to Damaris.

Damaris attempted to take Jaden's hand, and almost managed to touch his fingertips before he snatched his hand away. Jaden Kalen... she thought to herself. The name rang a bell, but she couldn't remember why.
She looked at him, puzzled, as he ran away. She was, for the moment, unaware of both Markus and Alucard, lost as she was in her own thoughts. She stared, puzzled, in the direction that Jaden had run, simultaneously trying to remember why she knew the name Jaden Kalen and trying to stop herself feeling everything she was feeling.
Just as Jaden returned, she remembered. She began to speak before he had even finished his sentence, her words almost tripping over one another.
"Jaden Kalen. There's a young werewolf looking for you. She was travelling with two men who wanted...." She trailed off, unsure of what to tell him. She decided on the truth. "Wanted to kill you." she finished. "Her name is Yumi." She added.

"Yumi!" Jaden said with suprise at the mention of his youngest cousins name. "Do you know where she is?" he asked. "Doesn't matter, take me to where you last saw her." Jaden said to Damaris in a commanding voice.
"Alucard get the others and tell them I've gone to find my cousin." Jaden guided Damaris out of the door not waiting for a reply.

Damaris didnt' have time to answer before she felt Jaden's hands guiding her back out of the door. She was now torn between wishing she hadn't said anything, resenting Jaden for forcing her back out into the cold and a strange, bashful feeling from the contact between them.
"She... she was in a house the last time I saw her." She explained. "Markus was there, and the other two... I left...I wanted to warn you." She stuttered. She knew there wasn't really a need for it, but for some reason, she thought it a good idea.
All the time trying to quell the strange, fluttery feeling in her stomach, she lead Jaden through the town towards the house she had last seen Yumi in. She took a minor detour to avoid the street where she'd had her battle with Phatima and Graham - there was no need to explain that now.
