Austin growled; him and Collan would have 'words' later, and they would not be of the friendly variety. He put this to the back of his mind as he continued to fight the weres, they were thinning out now and the stragglers were easy pickings for Austin's guns. Continuing to fire, he made his way over to Ara and stood back to back with her as he continued to eliminate the weres

Adrienne's hands were white knuckled on her sword as she fought now,keeping herself steady and calm at that point.she could be ill later..Collan sent another round down through the werewolf nearest her.then she ducked as his next round went off course."you bloody IDIOT!"she yelled up at Collan."You could have shot me...Again."
"Adrienne I'm sorry...!"his voice was off,something was wrong as she looked up at him and then she growled.her hands clenching as he looked at her."Austin..."she said."would you do me a kind favor?let me deal with Collan please...or at least help?"her face was set.her eyes stormy gray.

Austin headbutted a werewolf that tried to sneak up on him and shot it as it fell

he called to her. by now their partnership was making very clean work of this band of werewolves and the remainders were realising they were outmatched before fleeing into the night. Austin came to stand next to Ara

"I'll be fine.and not really.just scratched and Collan's bullet grazed my shoulder it seems.are you alright Austin?"she said quietly.she took out her medkit and cleaned the cut then put a badnage over it."Now to go get Collan."she walked over to the pub and kicked the door in,not breaking it just moving the blocking tables and chairs away.she turned to Austin."he and I have vital information to discuss.like why you do not take shots at Adrienne and her loved ones.and he Will.listen to me this time."she was angry but it didn't show except in the snap in her words and her body language.

Ara smiled slightly,her eyes getting colder."Adrienne...."George Talon said quietly."Adrienne he was drunk..he didn't mean it...."George's tone was pleading."George..."Adrienne said softly,stopping and putting her hand on the man's shoulder."Collan tried to shoot my Commander,he tried to shoot me and I am going to go have a few words with him."she heard Collan come to the door and then he bolted.she ran after him,catching him and slamming him hard into the wall."what in the hell are you trying to pull?"she grated as she held him by the shirt front."Adrienne.you are mine!not his!"Wrong answer. she thought as Collan wrenched himself free,pulling a long dagger from a sheath in his belt."Collan NO!"George yelled."...keep George out of this..we don't need him getting himself killed..."Adrienne said through gritted teeth,her hand locked around Collans wrist as he tried to bring the knife downward.she brought her knee up and Collan doubled over gasping as she grabbed the knife,he tackled her and the knife landed a few feet away.she grabbed her revolver and cocked the hammer back.Collan froze where he was."Do it Collan."she said,panting,wiping her lips,her hand shaking."Adrienne,he is immortal,you won't live with him for the rest of his life." "I will live with him for however long Fate decides I will."she replied and let out a gasp as he grabbed the dagger."drop the revolver Adrienne Hallos."George said softly."You heard me Adrienne.Drop the gun."his pistol dug into her back as she set the gun down."now Collan,you drop the knife.we will settle this like civilised people.put your weapons down on the floor Adrienne,all of them."she made a slight signal to Austin.Don't let yourself be seen Commander..move back farther into the shadows..

Austin stepped forward from the shadows and fired his gun into the air
"Stop this madness, NOW"
he snarled, his voice held a very hard edge to it
"George, put that gun down before you get hurt, Collan you put that knife down before it ends up somewhere that i can only describe as deeply pornographic"
his gaze was level and steady, his eyes showing he meant it
"you both know that i could have this gun"
he indicated to the one that he now held by his waist
"raised and have shot both of you, in the time it takes you to blink, so i want you to both just step back before i put holes in you, am i understood?"

Adrienne stood still as Austin walked over."Sir...I-I.."George stammered and Collan glared at Adrienne and Austin."Commander..."Ara said quietly."do I have permission to go outside and clear my head?"her voice was calm.

"Right, i dont care what personal issues you have going here, the bottom line is this; Collan you almost shot me twice; with allies like you, who needs enemies?"
he thought for a second
"and on a personal note; if you have any problems with Me, talk to me about them, dont take the coward's route, be a man for once"

Adrienne made her way to the door,her muscles protesting at the treatment.she walked out and leant against the wall in the shadows.Collan had gotten in some really painful hits to her ribs a few times.she took several deep breaths,calming down and taking out her cigarettes and matches.she took a drag on the cigarette and put the pack back in her pocket.
she rubbed her forehead and put the cigarette out not wanting to smoke the rest of it feeling dizzy again.

Collan looked at Austin his hands clenched."she deserves more.she always has.she doesn't need to be around that much battle with the people she is."his voice was quiet,colder than it had ever been."You say that Collan Forester."Adrienne said calmly from the door way."You say it because you can't accept that I am perfectly happy with him,perfectly happy to be free,uncaged like you would have me.shut up in a room of glass and twisted metal." "I love you."she looked at Austin and wordlessly turned her back on Collan."Lets go...please Austin.."she whispered as she met his eyes,hers full of pain."I love you Adrienne!I love you and you turn your back on me?!" he said behind her."You coldhearted girl,naive as the day you were born.I'll kill you one of thses days!I swear I will."Adrienne turned to him as her self control snapped and she moved to sit at one of the tables.her hands clenched and her face very pale.

Austin grabbed Collan by the throat and pushed him back against a nearby wall, lifting his feet from the floor by a few inches
"Dont make threats you cant carry out"
he growled
"you heard it from the lady herself, she is happy with me, if you so much as think of threatening her again, i will rip you to shreds, am i understood?"
he inquired, his voice held the same seam of iron
"if you want to fight someone, fight me, not the woman you supposedly love, i will be here any time"
he released Collan and took a step back before walking over to Adrienne and putting his arms around her, his eyes not leaving Collan's
"I'm ready to go when you are"
he said to her softly
"oh, and you're welcome"
he added to Talon, his voice ironic

Collan froze against the wall where he was at,"You are understood sir." he said coldly as George moved to his side,helping him up.
"Adrienne..."George said quietly."what can I do to help...I mean...thank you..?" Ara smiled very slightly,but the coldness in her eyes did not match it.she gently took Austin's hand in hers."You can't George.only one man can and he is standing right here beside me.besides.I do not need rewards for fighting..it is my life's work,now please excuse me George.I have had enough for one night."she turned to Austin as George said:"Well Really!if this is the kind of attitude I get after calling you maybe I wont next time!"
"Mr.Talon"Adrienne said softly."if I ever hear thoise words from you again I will Not come,I am not the fetch and carry slaying service and neither is Austin.I did it as personal favor and I withheld even giving of rewards.do not mistake that for attitude after I came close enough to getting myself shot by a man who obviously did not take his training seriously.I am bound to be short tempered about it and I have every right to be.Now.Good Night George."she said as she met his eyes,hers colder,his afraid. she looked up at Austin,saying calmly:"I am ready when you are love."

Adrienne stretched.her muscles protesting again.
"Oh...I think a long,hot shower would be very nice right about now.."she said as she walked beside Austin,she then turned,took his face gently in her hands and impulsively kissed him."that is for coming with me.and because I love you."she said softly.
