Miranda processed Carla's words in silence. Madoc... that couldn't be a very common name. It may well be worth looking him up. That could add a whole new spin to the story. Innocent bystander showing courage before the Night's Watch. If Carla's side of the story failed to get a reaction, she should be able to pull a human interest story out of that.
"My my, this is a side tae the Watch we've no' seen before." She said when Carla had finished. She pondered for a second. "You mentioned Rino, dear. You worked for him, did ye? Can ye tell me about that? Ye were a victim in his evil schemes, aye? And now ye're bein' threatened wi' death for somethin' that wasn't your fault?"
In her head, she was already running through possible headlines - Night's Watch threatens innocent woman? Who's watching our Watchmen? Hmm... no, she needed something snappier.

((Pushing it forward a bit as the thread's sort of died and I want to use Miranda elsewhere. Sorry Leigh!))
After a fairly long and in-depth chat with Carla, Miranda took her leave - there was no point having a fantastic story like this and sitting on it. As she was walking away from the cafe, heels clicking importantly against the stone, something in her bag rang. After a quick search, she pulled her mobile out and hit the "answer" button. "Aye?" She said briskly.
"Miranda, what've you got for me?" Bill Hart's voice came from through the speaker. "Ach, Bill, ye'll ne'er believe it. Have I got a cracker fer you!" Miranda was proud of herself, and it showed in her voice. "I'm nae giving away any details yet, but you just wait until ye read it!" "Yeah, yeah, I'll believe you when you put a finished article in my hand. Look, get back here and get your 'big scoop' typed. If I have to run one more crap story, from anyone, I will not be happy."
Miranda sighed. "Aye, Bill." Bill grunted something that might have been "alright then," and hung up.
She shook her head and made to put her phone away. Then she thought better of it, dialed a number and raised it to her ear. It was time to engage in her second-favourite pasttime - taunting the Page Two Prince. She was rather proud of herself for coming up with that nickname. She smiled a little smugly to herself as she waited for Steven Fitzgerald to answer his phone.
((I'll continue in the same thread as Steven so it doesn't get confusing))
