Hadrian followed after Nolan and stuck his tongue out at Wright, grinning wickedly, "Pranking one's superior officer isn't against the rules is it?" He asked Nolan innocently, just loud enough to be heard by Wright and Miss Eleri.

((Sorry, bloody laptops been misbehaving >.<))
Eleri raised an eyebrow, a look which turned into a frown quite rapidly. She made a mental note to get Wright's measurements from Nolan and order him at least three new shirts. Or just new uniforms altogether.
She smiled at Hadrian and gave him a 'don't worry, this happened to me too' look as he followed Nolan out of the door.
"I wouldn't suggest it." She called after him, still smiling.
She turned back to Wright.
"Pretty eventful couple of hours, wouldn't you say, sir?" She asked, rubbing the side of her nose absently. She was glad his wounds had stopped bleeding, the nose clip, useful as it was, had pinched.

Wright gave a horrible grin. "Welcome to my life." He told her, despite the fact his life usually involved more falling down and being drunk and less actually enforcing the law. At least, recently.
"Y'think the kid will actually try a prank?" Wright asked with the devilish type of smirk that suggested he was very, very talented at pranks.

"Oh no doubt, sir." Eleri replied casually. "Reminds me of my younger brother - not the type to miss an opportunity for a prank." She smiled.
She stood up and brushed her hair back.
"I suppose I'd best find that phone if I'm going to get the new uniforms in." She said with a sigh. She rested her hands on her hips and looked around the room critically.
"When was the last time this room was cleaned?" She asked sternly, rounding on Wright suddenly.

Wright looked around the room sheepishly. "I don't know." He confessed. "When was the universe brought into creation?" Somehow, it seemed those two times might correleate.
"I like it like this!" He tried to protest. "I know where things are!" He attempted to explain. "It's an organised mess!" He attempted to insist.

"I've heard that before." Replied Eleri. "So tell me this: what exactly is in that pile there?" She asked, pointing to a pile of papers near Wright's desk.
She'd learnt this tactic from her mother - she'd used it frequently on her brothers when they were growing up. If they could tell her what was in the pile she'd leave it. If they couldn't, as was most often the case, Eleri swooped in and cleaned with a fury.

Wright glanced at the pile, glanced back at Eleri, and with 100% confidence replied:
"Stuff."
The worrying part was that he was right.

Eleri looked at Wright.
"Stuff?" She asked disapprovingly. Wrong answer.
With a small smile at Wright that said 'you got it wrong, now I'm going to clean and there's nothing you can do about it', she pushed a few piles around to clear a large space on the floor and started sifting through the papers.

Wright, who was never one to be beaten, took up his own pile of papers, and began 'filing' through them. You didn't have to look far to find a pile of papers in the station...
He flicked through each page, before announcing; "Crap." And throwing it away. Directly into the nice big open space Eleri had cleaned. And he was doing it quickly as well. "Crap. Crap. Crap." It wasn't hard to realise that he wasn't reading them.
But he was making more 'organised piles' of mess.

Eleri looked up from her pile and glanced at Wright, then at the pile of papers. She gave him a meaningful enough glance to let him know she thought he was being childish, and then went back to her pile.
She sat down on the floor and cleared some space around her, before sorting the original pile into three smaller piles - useful, rubbish and questionable. Needless to say, the 'useful' pile was the smallest.
Once she had finished one pile, she started on the vast amounts of paper Wright had thrown her way.
"This might sound like a stupid question, but do we have any black bags?" She asked without looking up. "Or, more likely, could we send someone to go and get some?"

Wright gave a 'you shouldn't have suggested that' grin. "You're right. Let's send someone to get some." He decided. "Corporal Mortymer!" He commanded. "Go get some black bags!"
Wright was enjoying this. Nobody tidied his police station without a fight!

"Certainly, sir." Said Eleri, standing up.
She gave Wright a smug little smile. "Of course, I'll be needing some money, sir. Seeing as it's technically station equipment, the money to buy said black bags should come out of the stations petty cash."
She crossed her arms over her chest, and waited expectantly. She wouldn't admit it, but she was actually enjoying it. She'd sort of missed having somebody to boss around.

"Of course. Of course." Wright nodded. The one thing he knew the location of was the station's loose change jar. Mostly because he had to keep it out of the reach of Sampson, who interpreted 'spare' as meaning 'his'. But also because he'd fallen asleep on the large bed like pile of papers in the corner the other day and found it lodged in his spine.
He walked over and grabbed the jar, and handed Eleri a few pound entirely in loose change (well, he might as well annoy her as he did it) with a smugness that he'd managed to find it first time.
And she could just wait and see the mess she'd find when she started trying to clean. Sure, it looked like a lot of paper. But she could just wait until she got beneath the paper layers and found the mess waiting all over the station...

Eleri took the change without a word and dropped into her pocket. She laughed mentally. So that's how we're playing now, huh?
"I'll be off then, sir. Shouldn't be too long..."
She looked around the room at the mess on the floor, and then back to Wright.
"I'd prefer it if you didn't touch anything." She told him in a voice that suggested there'd be repercussions if he did. From the way Wright was acting, Eleri had a feeling that she'd bitten off more than she could chew.
Without another word, she opened the door, causing some of the paper to scatter across the floor, and left the police house.

Wright decided to 'help' Eleri out, and got to work 'cleaning'. By that, he meant that he decided to 'clean' out the attic. And by 'clean', he meant that it completely deserved the inverted commas.
He opened the door to the attic in the roof, took a very large step back, and watched as heaps of papers, junk and old pieces of equipment crashed out onto the floor.
He dusted his hands off.
Well, the attic was a bit cleaner now, at least.
