As if he had just been poked with a needle, Carla's exclamation sent thoughts flooding through Azrael's head. He did not recognise this woman, but she seemed to know him. That usually implied a formidable foe. The worse part was that everyone here seemed to be her friend. It was prefectly feasible for all three of them to be formidable foes; and if that was the case, Azrael was in trouble.
Azrael stood out of his chair, in a slow, non threatening manner. "I'm sorry, but I do not think we've been acquainted," Azrael said. His slacking composure hid the fact that he had already entered a battle ready state of mind. The moment any one of them moved in what even seemed like a hostile manner, Azrael would react to it.

Options flew in front of Carla's mind. Attacking Azrael might have seemed like a good option, he was only human after all, but she knew he was Austin Darkora's second in command, and therefore had to be more dangerous than he looked. Plus Felix would side with him, since she started the fight in his pub, and that'd make him mad. In her hung over state, she probably couldn't take them both.
But hey, that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun.
"Oh, like, my name's Kylie." She said, her voice suddenly taking on a ditzy tone. She knew the others would play along or face her wrath, so she wasn't worried there. Plus they'd probably find it funny. "I'm just like, suuuuuuuuuch a huge fan!" She beamed with her best ditzy smile. "I mean, like, you guys are just sooooooooooooooo cool! With your long coats and like being all manly saving the world all the time and stuff! I've totally got a poster of you on my wall!" Okay, that might have been pushing it, but Carla couldn't resist now. This was far too much fun.
Plus if she got Azrael to lower his guard enough for her to take him out, that'd make it even more worthwhile.

For a split second, Felix thought the Half-Demon was going to jump the other male and tightened his grip on the mop, ready to get between the two of them. Only for her to pull a ditzy-valley girl act.
All at once, he relaxed and cringed as though tasting something foul on his tongue as he hugged the mop closer and shuddered. Sure, he was used to Dillon pulling off various rather disturbing accents, but Carla and a Valley-girl? The mind boggled.
"Please, please, please never speak like that in my presence again, for the love of Kami-sama, please," the blond begged weakly.

Madoc whipped his head around and stared in a mix of confusion, horror and amusement at Carla's sudden change of voice. He relaxed, sat back on his chair properly and finished his cigarette, which had been dangerously close to falling from his hand.
He bit his lip, trying not to laugh, although this got much harder when he saw Felix's face. He snorted. He didn't want Azrael to catch on though, he thought this had the potential to be funnier than throwing water at a sleeping vampire, mostly because this didn't involve having to run away afterwards.
"Hey, Fe?" He choked out, with a grin, "any chance of another cup for me and... Kylie?" He bit his lip again.

Unfortunately, Azrael wasn't a moron. He knew that Carla's first exclamation was far from joy. Another error was that no one other than other members of the watch knew his name unless they were his enemies. In fact, no one from the watch were well known enough to have, 'fans'. He saw through the ruse, even before Madoc's and Felix's failed attmepts to keep subtle about it. "Bullshit. Who are you?" Azrael replied, all manner of politeness disappeared from his tone. She knew him, so he must know her. That was his logic.

Carla's grin didn't disappear, but it took on a slightly more sinister tone. Her eyes locked on Azrael. "Awww, you're no fun." She said, maintaining the ditzy accent before dropping it completely to answer his question.
"Name's Carla. Carla Glenn. You mighta heard of me." She said with with a glare, that same static charge hanging in the air. "Thanks to you lot, now president of Devil's Advocates. Yeah, that's right. We're not gone, and we're not in the habit of forgettin' those that do us harm." This wasn't quite how Carla had envisioned her great reveal to the Watch that her organisation had survived and was ready to take revenge, but she'd take what she could get.
"Don't worry though, got no interest in killing you. I mean, who ever heard of anybody caring about killing the second in command?" Carla had a feeling, although she didn't know, that it was more harmful to insult this man's ego anyway. Being a human amongst members of the Watch must be hard, and making out he wasn't worth her time was just as fun. "I'm gunning for the big man himself."
She ruined the threat, because she couldn't help but adding.
"Oh, and that damn little ninja girl. She's so annoying!"

Azrael knew who Carla was. It would've been harder to remember hadn't she reminded him of who she worked for. The details about her were hazy at best, but he remembered what seemed most important. She was part demon and she had an interesting control of electricity. He was surprised that she hadn't taken the opportunity to kill him whilst he was ignorant of he presence. It would've been easy; there would've been no struggle. However, the element of surprise had now been lost.
Azrael already knew his next move, but Carla's theory proved correct. She had touched a nerve with her carefully chosen comment. That impudent fool...
No, Azrael couldn't afford to allow himself to get angry. He quickly got to grips with reality and refocused his frame of mind. He decided to play along, hoping to mask his next move. He laughed, as though mocking Carla; his laughter boomed around the pub. Still looking tickled, he raised his untouched second pint of coke to his lips and took a little sip. Lowering it slightly, he opened his mouth as if to follow up with a witty comeback. Suddenly, Azrael threw the contents of his pint glass towards Carla, in hopes to briefly blind her. He also hoped for it to affect her control of electricity, but he didn't know what the outcome would be. In the same movement, Azrael threw himself towards the front door, rolling into a kneeling position and drawing one of his pistols.
Now, he had all three of the strangers comfortably in his forward arc. He knew that if retaliation was coming, he wouldn't be able to fire in time and thus he decided to remain on the defensive. He would only shoot at the two men if they attacked Azrael or defended Carla; although, he hoped they wouldn't get involved at all.

Carla's little introduction turned the Daywalker's blood to ice even as pure anger burned hot and bright in the pit of his stomach. If this broke out into a fight he was never letting anyone apart from his idiots ever stay the night again, the rest of so-called 'intelligent' life could go and fuck themselves with a broken beer glass as far as he cared.
Then Azrael threw his drink over Carla before throwing himself backwards in a surprisingly graceful manouver. And then pulled a gun.
His heart hammered but he just leaned against his broom and looked irritated, trying not to let the gun pointed in his vague area of direction - let alone in his damn bar he was beginning to see why Vincent Lemartes always had a Bouncer on the door to conviscate weaponry. Maybe he should look into a similar thing - look like it was bothering him.
"If you two are going to fight, take it outside," he hissed darkly, he sincerely hoped that Zack was still in the shower and Dillon was doing something out of the bar or sleeping. The last thing they needed was those two and their itchy trigger/sword fingers. This was already a very tense situation.

Carla figured something was wrong as soon as Azrael started to laugh, and braced herself for an attack, but hadn't expected a glass of coke to the face. It had an odd effect on her, much like a plug short circuiting if you spilt water on it, causing the odd spark and crackle of smoke over her body.
She reacted in surprise, taking a step back. "Yuck! Ow!" She managed as the sparks subsided. "Hey! I really liked this outfit!" She exclaimed, and was about to mention how he'd also ruined her hair before seeing where he'd ended up, gun drawn.
She instantly threw her hands in the air in the sign of surrender. "Whoa! Whoa! WHOA!" She yelled, taking a step back. "Don't shoot! I mean, seriously, don't! There's some pretty damn good reasons for you not to."
She just hoped he'd give her time to talk and explain it all. "Look, firstly, these guys put me up when I was more than a little drunk, and I kinda owe them. I know I'm evil, but I'm not ungracious. That'd just be rude. So let's not trash the bar." She began, gesturing to Madoc and Felix, although feeling this wasn't the best method of persuading Azrael.
"Secondly, my electricity powers are skittish at best. If I die, who knows what'll happen? Will all that power in my body just discharge like a mini A-bomb? Or will I just be dead? 'cause I dunno. Not even Rino knew." She also felt this wouldn't help, but was building up to the main, and in her opinion, best reason.
"But thirdly, and most importantly, I'm in control of Devil's Advocates. That's currently made up of all the freakish demons from the darkest depths Rino recruited that now have nowhere to go. For whatever reason you wanna give to them, they now follow me 'cause Rino wished it. And while they follow me, all their focus is upon taking revenge upon the Watch. I don't care about 'taking over the world' or hurting anybody, except you lot of course. Kill me, and they're goaless again. They'll go out there and start eating babies and doing whatever it is they do. Keep me alive, and all they're trying to do is, well, kill you. And that's something you've got a chance to damage control."
She hoped this argument would make sense to him. Carla had a pretty loose grasp of control on the demons as it was. She could at least focus their energies one way, but if she was gone, they'd be wild again. Quite literally, she was saving lives by trying to kill the Watch. At least, that's how she thought of it.
"I can promise I got no desire to kill you. Else I'd of done it when I spotted who you were. But killing you would make it personal with Darkora, and I'd rather be that annoying thorn than arch nemesis. He'd come after me with everything he's got, and then I'd be in no position to kill him later on, would I? So, what d'ya say?"

Madoc's grin disappeared from his face abruptly at Azrael's sudden change of tone and the look that replaced it managed, exceedingly well, to convey a look that said 'oh shit'. Torn between the desire to belt up the stairs and fetch Zack down or stay very, very still and hope he didn't get caught in the crossfire, he opted for the second option. It was probably safer in the long run.
He soon changed his mind as Azrael threw himself towards the door and pulled his gun. He surveyed the situation for a moment, as Carla tried to talk her way out of being shot, and then in an uncharacteristic display of bravery, chivelry or plain stupidness, he got up and stood between Carla and Azrael. He was banking on the idea that Azrael wouldn't shoot an unarmed, non-threatening human who only minutes before had admitted that he wasn't really a fighter.
He raised his hands in what he hoped was a peaceful gesture. "Think about this. Are you really going to shoot a basically unarmed, hung-over woman who, by her own admission, has no ambition to do you any harm at the moment? And then what about Felix and me? Both unarmed, both younger and weaker than you and probably incapable of doing you any harm." He decided to keep the fact that Zack was upstairs and Dillon was (probably) still in his broom cupboard out of the equation.
"Besides, Carla makes a good point. And look ar her," he gestured to Carla with one hand, not taking his eyes off Azrael, "Does she actually look like she could be the next Rino? She's just a glorified lacky looking for a bit of revenge. No offence," he added to Carla over his shoulder. It wasn't so much that he cared enough about Carla to want her not to die - hell, he'd only known her a day - it was more that the idea of her exploding and taking them all with her. Plus he had a suspicion that Felix would enlist him to clean up the mess if they survived. That, and he had a soft spot for good-looking women.

Azrael was taken aback by Carla's surrender. He honestly expected much more of a fight. He considered what Carla had told him for a brieg moment. Frankly, he didn't believe it. Had he acted on whim, he would have onloaded most of the contents of his gun. Unfortunately for Azrael, Carla had touched a pressing matter; that of duty. If what she had said was true, then he would be violating all that the Watch had worked for. Azrael could only think of one option: inform Austin and wait for authority to continue. He relayed his thoughts of what had just occured to the Commander of the Watch, knowing that he would receive them easily. However, in the meantime he would keep Carla occupied. He hid his complexion from her to keep her under control. Before he had given his response, Madoc had moved in the way. Unfortunately for him, Azrael had no problem with killing an unarmed civilian if they prevented him from doing his duty. Azrael spoke to Madoc first, aiming his weapon at him. "Madoc, you are impeding an officer of the Watch in his duty. Last warning!" Come on, Austin, Azrael thought, impatiently. All it took was for Austin to relay back the order to kill Carla...

'Was that man a complete idiot?!' Felix could have sworn his blood ran cold when that idiot human put himself between Carla and Azrael. Probably for the first time he wished he was just a little bit more Vampiric, or at least willing to learn how to be, and know how to Flicker.
As he didn't, the best he could do was dart forward, hoping to hell he didn't get shot in the process, grab Madoc by the collar of his crumpled slept in shirt and wrench him backwards with enough force to knock him ass over tea kettle. Or at least take his feet out from under him if he wasn't expecting it.
The blond then, just as quickly, retreated and shoved the human behind him, "One of these days, that chivalrous streak of yours is going to get you set on fire and I'm still not sure if I'll be the one holding the matches or not," he hissed darkly, glaring at Azrael but still keeping half an eye on Carla. One, he didn't trust the other human not to shoot them just for putting the woman up for the night, from what he'd heard about the Night Watch from Moe, they seemed that kind of Professional when it came to evil organisations - hunting down everyone and everything connected to them or having assisted them. True, Felix and Madoc hadn't done anything of the sort when the Devil's Advocates were actually in business but since his idiot friend had just tried to protect the current head, they may take that as a sign of alligence or at least -
Ah, he was thinking too much, either they got shot or they didn't. He just really hoped neither Dillon or Zack came onto the scene, then things would just get messy, what with Dillon's aspirations of being a Super Villain and Zack generally being an over-protective bastard who happened to work for Lemartes.
He wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry when the sudden thought of what would happen if Kana walked in right at this moment in time. That.... No.
((Had a word with Damaris, she says its alright to have Fe physically drag Madoc around for a bit. 8DD))

Madoc gulped at Azrael's reaction to his moment of stupid bravery. He hadn't thought of that. He was too used to hanging around the EHPD, who used the Bottle as their pub of choice occasionally, although not so much these days. The difference was that they were trying to keep the law, not the balance, and they wouldn't have shot Madoc, just arrested him for being an idiot.
He stood stock-still, trying to decide whether to move or not. On one hand, if he kept standing there, he was going to get shot. On the other hand, it might not be fatal and he could end up looking like a hero. Nah, that was stupid. Luckily for him, Felix darted forward, knocked him off balance and yanked him out of the way before he could do anything.
He stood behind Felix looking sheepish. "Sorry, Fe," he said, coming back to his senses. "Don't know what came over me... must still be drunk." He tried his version of 'puppy-dog eyes' on the blonde, aware that it probably wouldn't work. Obediantly, he stood behind Felix looking a bit sorry for himself and waited with baited breath to see what Azrael would do next.
((Does anyone object to Kana turning up looking for Zack by the way? Cuz I'd love to get him involved.))

((I'll try to talk Zack into coming back for some of this but with Uni being what it is and being in Third Year, I wouldn't hold your breath, work is probably trying to consume her soul. As for the throw down between Kana and Azrael, how are we going to handle Carla, Madoc, Felix, Dillon and Zack? The first three I can see doing the smart thing and getting the hell out of dodge, Dillon would jump in and Zack... I'm fairly sure he would try to remain uninvolved but Kana being who he is would probably try to use him as a meat shield on more than one occasion.))
