((sorry for the late reply guys))
William Couldn't help but look shocked by the goings on of the pub, then again, he probably would have had a similar reaction even if the bar had not looked like a bomb site. For the both his safety and to keep another potential fight from braking out if he said something wrong the man turned back to the bar and listened.
Though that job with the Police did sound interesting and he did have a few copies of his CV on him as well, maybe it would be best for him to drop buy there later and hand it in, the police could always use more members after all!

Not entirely happy about having a drunkard place his arm across his shoulders, Steven tried to do his best to look interested as Dillon blathered on about something. Even in his depressed and semi drunken state he had managed to see the pair of swords strapped to the mans back and so without him even being aware his survival instincts had taken over and he found himself nodding knowingly as his brain registered the words Brazil, ninjas and mime. All the while envisioning the large blades swinging toward him.
Hoping he seemed interested he found himself panicking as he heard 'swords' and 'fight' mentioned. Unable to stop himself he let out a whimper and tried to struggle out of Dillon's underarm.
Not for the first time since arriving in Edgehaven Steven found himself wishing that he had kept at his judo lessons when he had been growing up instead of loosing interest and playing video games. He had learned shortly after arriving that everyone at the Gazette carried a weapon of some type even the office cleaner! He'd been told that he was either incredibly brave or really really really stupid to walk the streets of Edgehaven without a gun.
For the first time since arriving in town Steven began to think that he might in fact be incredibly stupid.

Madoc pouted playfull at the day-walker. "Oooh I heard about that. Nasty business that was. Rumour has it that they had two rookies there too. Talk about baptism by fire." He considered for a moment. "Well, blood I guess, but same difference."
He listened, suppressing a grin, as Dillon launched into another of his long-winded stories that would probably end up being the plot of several films all rolled into one, and glanced at William. "You ok, mate? You've gone a bit pale. Could be worse, you could be him". He said, gesturing towards the squirming journalist.

William looked at Madoc and shook his head slightly smiling at the man, "Im fine no need to worry, i was just thinking about dropping my cv in at the Police Station" he scratched his chin a little as he watched the tiny din that was going on around him, given time he could get used to this place.
When he thought about it his dad would have probably wanted him to join the force following in the fathers foot steps and what not and some one did mention earlier that they could use the extra pair of hands.

Felix nodded idly, "May be an idea. The force is very small currently. Wright, Mortymer, Beaumont, Everitt, Kane and Flowers are the only active coppers right now. They've got a few staff members who don't leave the office for whatever reason. They could do with the extra manpower," the blond stated bluntly, "And you'll learn quick enough what this place is like," he added, mismatched eyes raking up and down the outsider. His reactions earlier had not gone unnoticed.
Felix was quite pointedly ignoring Dillon and his unfortunate victim.
