Hadrian grinned at the captain and waggled his eyebrows with a smirk, "You have no idea." He responded.

Eleri watched Myra up the stairs, making sure she went to the right door, turned and walked back in to the main room.
"No idea about what?" She asked Hadrian, raising an eyebrow.

Wright, who was now playing with a rubber band he'd found on his desk absent mindedly, turned to Eleri and grinned.
"Well, if we told you that, you'd have an idea about it. Then what he said wouldn't be true, right?" He (accidently) puncutated this sentence by letting the rubber band slip out of his fingers and fire across the room. Given that he was also rocking on his chair at the time, this had the double effect of causing him to slip so the chair fell back down.
He did, however, manage to sit there as if nothing had happened, and only let out a very small 'ahem'.

Hadrian nodded emphatically, not even twitching as the captain clattered to the floor, "Right. Exactly what he said. Yup." He announced solemnly.

Eleri raised an eyebrow at Wright, but didn't say anything. Instead, she glanced over at Hadrian and rolled her eyes with a sigh. However, she couldn't help snorting with laughter at Wright as the elastic band flew across the room.

Hadrian just offered a bright smile to everyone that said he was resolutely not planning world domination, not at all. Oh the posters? Lol!cats. Possible 4Chan. Certainly not his own diabolical plots. Nope.

"Well, I'll see you cats later." The youngest of the male Officers announced, glancing at his watch, "I got Probie all kitted out but I'm needed back home, Mum's organised a whole lot of rebuilding and she's drafted me and Luc' into running the shelter while she's off overseeing the rebuilding. Doesn't trust people not to make off with the stuff she actually likes." He told them, grabbing his jacket from the hook on the wall he had stuck it on when first arriving this morning.
The dark haired male grinned and gave the pair a sloppy salute before sauntering out of the room, pausing beside the stairs to shout up - "Shake it for the camera sweetie!" With a wicked little grin before scampering out of the Station. Of course the Security system hadn't been completely fitted in upstairs so he was fairly certain she was alright and unspied on. But if she was... well he'd have something nice to tease her with later.

((As with The Broken Bottle, I'm assuming this is about a year after everything above. Poke me if not.))
Eleri Mortymer, Sergeant of the EHPD, cast a scornful look at the paperwork that littered her desk. It seemed that no matter how much she did, more seemed to take its place. She'd developed a theory that paperwork was a bit like a Hydra - for every form you filled in, another two appeared.
Giving up, she pushed her chair back, stood up and stretched out her arms, making the joints crack. She wandered across the the small tea-station she'd set up in the corner and boiled the kettle. It may have been an eventful and harrowing year, but it hadn't put Eleri off her tea habit. She doubted that anything short of death would manage that, and even then she wasn't quite sure.
"Tea, anyone?" She called, putting her own milk in a mug. She wasn't sure if the other members of the EHPD would hear her, the new-old station was considerably larger than the tiny police house she and Hadrian had joined up in. Hadrian had done a damn good job on it too, she mused. Of course there'd been people contracted in for certain things, but Hadrian had put in the finishing touches. And of course, Elizabeth had fronted them the money for it, which had made it all possible. She smiled. Maybe it hadn't been such a bad year, all things considered.

There was a fizzing crackle and a short almost pop of an explosion from the basement before Hadrian appeared, coughing slightly and with comically singed eyebrows.
"I'll take some of that tea," he told his SO with a grin as he stuck his burned fingertips into his mouth.

Wright burst through the front doors at full sprint. He had a cut over his eyebrow, his shirt was (predictably) torn and soaked in blood, for some unknown reason he was carrying a battleaxe and it looked like he had lost a shoe somewhere.
He walked past Eleri and Hadrian, placing his radio down on the desk by Hadrian calmly. "Batteries are dead." He told Hadrian. "Turns out shouting 'back up' in a loud voice doesn't have the same effect." He slumped in his usual chair, and put the axe on the desk in front of him.
"Oh, and I broke the car." Elizabeth's budget had stretched to the EHPD getting their first proper police cruiser in, well, as long as Wright could remember. The problem seemed to be that Wright was an eternal pedestrian but insisted on driving it anyway. They'd only had it six months and already the thing consisted of more spare parts of Hadrian's than actual physical car.
"Make mine no sugar." He told Eleri, despite the fact he had no idea she had just asked if anybody wanted tea. He just worked on the internal system of his brain that Eleri had constantly just offered tea.

Eleri gave Hadrian a weary smile and a look that said "I won't ask what you've been doing but God help you if you've made a mess". Before she could reply, their Captain burst through the door. Eleri put down the kettle she had just picked up and faced him, arms folded over her chest.
"I'm not going to mention the axe, the missing shoe or the blood. Really, I'm not. I am going to say this: whatever you've annoyed now better not be still chasing you." She fixed him with a Look and then went back to making the tea. She handed Hadrian's to him and put Wright's down on the desk in front of him. Then she picked up the battleaxe and stood it on its head with the handle leaning against the wood. There was no point explaining why, but something about a battleaxe on the desk of the police captain just wasn't... right.
She sighed. "When are you going to learn that you can't drive? She asked him, exhasperated. Sipping from her own mug, she closed her eyes, a pained look on her face, and then opened them. "How exactly have you broken it this time?"

Wright held up a finger to Eleri, signalling her to be quiet, and leant forwards over his desk for a moment, listening intently. After some time, a deep 'thoom thoom thoom' could be heard, and before anybody could react, the doors to the Police Station flew open, and in stormed a gigantic insectoid demon.
Wright casually flicked a switch behind his desk, and suddenly, seemingly from nowhere, a giant safe fell down from the floor above and landed on the demon's head. It died instantly with a squish that sent blood guts flying everywhere.
He turned calmly back to Eleri. "I broke it running away from that." He answered. "Corporal Beaumont!" He yelled, turning around to find Hadrian. "Somehow the safe fell out of the first floor again!"
He turned back to Eleri. "Hate it when it does that." He told her.

Upon hearing the approaching thuds, Eleri instictively reached for the gun she had holstered on her back behind her. She hesitated as the giant insect... thing.... appeared in the doorway and then jumped at the safe landing on it, dropping her mug.
"Goddammit!" she yelled, wiping a fleck of blood off her cheek. "How many times are you going to do that?" She glared at the mess that was now all over the place, as though she could glare it into cleaning itself up. Resigned, she knelt down and scooped up the shards of broken china that had, up until a moment ago, contained her tea.
She looked up at Wright and downright scowled at him before turning to Hadrian. "Remind me, why did we think that was a good idea?" She asked him. She stood up, shook her head and dumped the broken mug in the bin, flicking the kettle on again.
While she waited for it to boil again, she leaned on the table with her arms folded and looked pointedly at the demon remains. "Well, I'm not cleaning it up." She said, knowing full well that she probably would be.

Hadrian grinned at Wright, "Terrible accident sir," he said solemnly, knowing full well he had rigged the thing to fall down for just such an occasion, "Could happen to anyone. I'll see about getting the car fixed." He made no mention of moving the safe.
Really, he could handle blood and oil and wires but ask him to go near insect guts was just a step to far and there was no fucking way he was touching that snot-like substence. Ick.

The door to one of the offices opens, and Myra exits flipping through what looks like a newly sorted file. Apparently, she'd drawn the short straw when it came to sorting the ever-growing pile of paperwork that her boss and most of the recruits tended to ignore in favour of blowing things up, or smashing things beyond all belief. Luckily for the department, Myra had something of an OCD about making sure the files and paperwork was correct and sorted in a prompt and timely fashion, but unfortunately for the department she was just as determined to make sure she wasn't the only person sorting everything.
"Paperwork from the last three weeks is sorted and up to date, but the weeks before that is unfinished as it is not my responsibility according to rota---"
She stopped dead in her tracks as she finally looked up from the file. Nothing was said, however the eyebrow she rose in response to the mess of dead demon bug and broken ceiling scattered across the floor.
"... You are aware I am not cleaning that up, correct?" she said finally, dropping the file on her desk and rooting around in her drawer for a highlighting pen.
