A small, sleek jet landed smoothly on the runway that had been specially cleared for the occasion, and steered into the hangar, which while devoid of planes, was far from empty. There were several security staff waiting, as well as a car to take the passengers to their destination.
The door opened, and the passengers began to descend. After another few security staff, a tall, slim figure clad in an expensive silk and velvet dress of deepest red, carefully cut to emphasise her figure, stepped gracefully out, treading carefully in ruby-coloured shoes with diamonds and rubies glinting at her throat and ears. Her long, dark hair curled and flowed freely over her pale shoulders, decorated here and there with scarlet and gold ribbons, and yet more diamonds shining around her brow.
Romayne Nikolayev had arrived in Edgehaven, and she wanted to be sure that everyone knew it. She made her way down the steps, stepping daintily. Her bodyguard, Inessa, followed behind, dressed in a similar fashion in dark reds and silvers, although nowhere near as spectacularly as Romayne. Her face was stoney, and she followed her mistress silently, taking in the surroundings only to eliminate any possibilities of danger.
Romayne, on the other hand, looked around excitedly. She had visited Edgehaven before, although it had been many years since she'd last been there. So many new things! New people, maybe! She smiled, parting her ruby lips to show delicate, white teeth and her slightly elongated fangs, and her mahogany eyes flashed playfully.
She strode towards the door, Inessa behind her, and looked out into the rain. Inessa took an umbrella from a man who had appeared with it at her elbow, and opened it, ready to shelter her mistress if it was needed. Romayne had no intention of going out into the rain though.
She turned, pouting, and looked at Inessa sorrowfully. "Oh, it would have to be raining, wouldn't it?" She said sadly, her English tinged with her thick Russian accent. Inessa said nothing.
She turned and walked back towards the plane, her heels clicking on the stone floor.
"Oh Amara dear, it's raining! Isn't it awful?" She called to the other woman that had made the flight with her.
Austin Edit: Minor corrections, because I can
