Damaris' smile faded at Azrael's cold reply, maybe she was in trouble after all. She glanced at Cindy and saw the same apprehension on the blonde's face that she was feeling herself. She didn't know what the other woman was thinking, but she started to wish she'd been... nicer to her. She made herself a promise to try and find some common ground with Cindy, even if it was only their shared experience of helping Zin.
She nodded at Cindy's words, casting a worried look towards Zin. Having picked up much of the languages she spoke from listening to others, she wouldn't have been at all surprised if Zin understood more English that they all realised. She offered Cindy what she hoped was an encouraging half-smile. "That's a good point," She said softly, "I don't suppose she likes being talked about as if she isn't here either."
She wasn't entirely sure what to do now, it looked like the two leaders had taken over the situation, more or less eliminating the need for either her or Cindy. She fiddled with her hair self-conciously, shoving some of the stray strands out of her eyes and bit her lower lip absently.

Zin in actuality didn't understand what they were talking about. But tone of voice and body language went a long way for understanding and she didn't like what she was seeing or hearing when the smaller man spoke. His voice was very cold and his face was vry disapproving. They were talking about her, she knew that.
The teenager shifted slightly and moved to latch her hand onto Cindy's. The women here had been nothing but nice to her, nicer than anyone else she had ever met, she didn't like the way the Lady was cringing submissively and stumbling over herself. She didn't like what it suggested because Ladies were not the kind of women who submitted willingly, at least, not the ones she knew of.
She didn't know what to say to make the situation better and she didn't want to make these people angry but at the same time, she really didn't care.
"<Please don't be angry with them. I wouldn't have let Miss Damaris leave me behind anyway. She had to take me with her,>" the teenager said defencively, catching the way the other woman was beginning to shift anxiously. "<They were only trying to help. I'll leave if its that important but don't.... don't be angry at them.>"

Cindy was shocked when Zin took her hand, and almost instinctively let go. People didn't take her hand. Not like that. Especially people in yellow t-shirts. But after a brief moment, she squeezed Zin's hand and kept hold of it, hoping that it would help Zin feel more confident.
"<Do not worry Zin. They are not angry. They are only concerned.>" Cindy said in her best comforting tone, which was rather difficult with her formal Thai. But the last thing she wanted was Austin and Azrael feeling like Zin was siding with her and Damaris over them. That would just make things even more complicated. "<They want to know more about you to be able to help you adjust to your new life better. You are very mysterious to us.>" She attempted to explain, not too sure how to begin on the topic of her background when it was obviously a sensitive subject. She wondered if she should mention many Watch members came from odd backgrounds, but she decided it would be presuming too much about Zin's upbringing.
Those of the upper classes didn't say these things out loud, they just learnt to know when to think them to themselves and then say it behind closed doors, after all!
Reality caught up with Cindy, and she realised she'd butted in when Azrael and Austin had taken charge. She gave Austin a quick glance. "<I apologise.>" She said sheepishly, standing back from Austin a little more, but still grasping Zin's hand. "Sorry." She shot to Azrael, in English, with an apologetic look on her face.

"There is nothing to apologise for," Azrael replied, quickly glancing at Cindy whilst still waiting for Austin to reply. His whole demeanor hadn't changed, however. He was taking the matter into account very seriously. From her actions, it seemed that Zin would be comfortable staying around Cindy which certainly made things easier.

Austin held a hand up soothingly, attempting to calm a situation he could see spiralling out of control <it's okay, Zin, I would expect nothing less of one of my officers> he replied to Zin, giving Damaris and Cindy a nod before switching back to English for everyone's benefit "No-one's in any 'trouble' over this" he added before repeating the same in Thai - having picked up on the anxiety in their thoughts and voices. He turned back to Zin again, studying her for the second time to see what he could understand <Zin, you may stay here for as long as is necessary, bear in mind though that this is an operational base, so certain areas will be off limits> he breathed an almost in-perceptible sigh of relief as he finished that sentence - this had been the most Thai he'd used in one go in at least forty years.

Damaris caught herself nibbling on her lip and stopped immediately. She heard Zin say her name and noticed that she'd grabbed Cindy's hand. She wasn't sure whether she felt relieved that she wasn't the one the girl had apparently latched on to or offended that she seemed to prefer the blond over her. She placed a hand on the girl's shoulder to show that she wasn't about to abandon her.
"That's good to know," she said quietly. "Can I make a suggestion, sir?" She asked Austin, and then without waiting for permission, added "I think she might benefit from some training, like you gave me, she seems to have enormous amount of self-control and knowing how to shift properly might help her a lot..."

As time consuming as looking after Zin would be, Azrael still couldn't think of a better way to go about it. They haven't had a call all week so far so what harm could be done?
"Damaris speaks to the point," Azrael stated, softly.

Training? That word she knew.
Training for what though?
Almost subconsciously she stood a little straighter, still, she was glad that no one was in trouble because of her. That would have made her feel absolutely sick.

Austin nodded "that would be a really good idea - we need to continue your training anyway" He replied before turning to Zin and closed his eyes for a moment, trying to put together the words to explain the unexplainable - in a foreign language. <I can train you to control the wolf> he settled for, deciding to simplify it as best he could instead of getting then both confused.

Kunoichi padded in, having been awoken by the noise "what have I missed?" she asked, her eyes showing she was entirely not awake as yet. She stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the newcomer, laying her head on one side and wondering exactly what was wrong with this picture.

Cindy had stood back, mostly just holding Zin's hand for comfort. She didn't really feel there was much she could input, especially when Austin was addressing Zin. She figured that anything Austin wanted Zin to know, he would tell her, and therefore anything Cindy said would be something he didn't want her to know, and thus land her in trouble.
She noticed Zin perk up a little at the word 'training'. That was good. At least she was enthusiastic. She offered Zin a smile, and hoped that Zin would understand that both herself and Damaris would speak to her more later, when the others weren't around.
She was surprised to see Kunoichi enter. But then again, Kunoichi was hardly one to announce her entrances. She wondered if things were beginning to get a bit out of hand with this many people. "<Zin, this is Kunoichi. She is an ordinary human like myself and Azrael. But she has been trained in many martial arts, perhaps like yourself. I am afraid I am not really sure.>"
She thought it might help if Zin felt she had a similar person around, and thought it'd be nice if her and Kunoichi bonded over their training. She had no idea what kind of martial arts Kunoichi had learnt though. None of that ever interested Cindy. The closest interest she had to Kunoichi was what hair dye she used...

Control the wolf? That fuzzy feeling in the back of her brain, the thing that hadn't been there before that she felt shifting when she got upset - was that the wolf?
She remembered how she'd essentially freaked out like a little girl when she'd assessed herself and found four furry legs instead of two arms and two legs like she had been expecting. How it was like.... everything just greyed out, it felt like she had been sleeping, looking at the world through a picture frame as that fuzzy feeling just enveloped her and the whole world went blurry. She hadn't been in control of herself then and now that she realised this, her blood turned to ice.
"<I'll do it,>" she said firmly, she'd nearly attacked and killed someone during that time, she never ever wished to be responsible for someone's death, not again, once was enough - there was too much blood on her hands already. Accidental or not.
Then the other woman came in, smelling of musky warm things that the Asian girl identified as typical human sleep smells. Her eyes immediately fastened onto the older woman and the way she moved, a Martial Artist! She would recognise that gate anywhere, Cindy's explanation was still very welcome. She wondered if the Caucasian woman was familiar with her styles though? It was often hard to tell what kind of martial art one used if they knew more than just one, as was the case with this woman and with Zin herself.

Austin took in Zin's reply with a nod and turned to Kunoichi "Mei-Mei, this is Zin, Damaris brought her in, she's a newly turned lycan..." He turned back to the others "So it's settled, I get to train yet another stray" He said with a grin to remove any possible sting from the remark

Azrael smiled. What an interesting morning. "So be it; Cindy, taking care of the girl will be your duty." Azrael turned to Austin. Are you letting this little one rest or training her immediately? He thought, knowing Austin can hear him clearly. I am still not up to date with how unfragile lycans can be.
