Damaris' expression changed into a half-smile at Azraels' statement, it was nice to know that she was at least making half-decent suggestions. "Would it be ok to train me and Zin at the same time, or do you think seperately is better?" She asked Austin, nodding at his words.
She cocked her head slightly as Kunoichi padded in - she still wasn't quite used to the woman's cat-like movements. While further introductions were being made, she cleared up Zin's broken chopsticks and bowl, leaving the dirty dishes to soak in the sink. She also covered the remainder of the rice and left it on the side to cool before returning to her position next to Zin.
"Don't we have a training session scheduled in this afternoon?" She asked Austin, determined not to be shoved out of the conversation entirely. "Perhaps Zin could sit in and watch? It might help her understand a little more...." She hadn't missed Azrael's order than Zin be left in Cindy's charge and while she was fine with that, she didn't want to be left out of Zin's life altogether, especially as she'd been the one that had found her and brought her back. The fact that everyone seemed to be ignoring that got under her skin in a way that irritated her to no end.

Austin nodded "I should be able to train you both together, that won't be much of a problem, it'll just take alittle more focus than normal" he considered her second question "This afternoon would be fine, Zin can watch or she can take part if she wants" he turned to Zin <I'm already teaching Damaris the same thing, we have a session this afternoon - you can watch or you can take part if you want?> he told her, still struggling alittle with the language

Cindy tried not to look at Azrael in horror, but being given responsibility for Zin was the last thing she was expecting. Austin spoke the language too! What was Cindy supposed to do to help Zin? The two hardly shared any interests!
"Um... <Zin, Azrael has requested that you stay with me between your training sessions here.>" She explained, deciding not to word it as 'looking after' or 'taking care'. She thought Zin probably wouldn't like it. "<You may stay with me, if you would like. My home is quite big.>" Cindy did, very occasionally, have a talent for understatement. "<It has a gym. Um, I believe.>" She thought that would help Zin, although to be honest, Cindy had only ever been in that room once, and she only assumed it was a gym from the dust cover sheeted equipment scattered around.
She moved over to Damaris, and said to her quietly. "Damaris. Um...would you help me? Look after Zin? O-only, I'm not sure I'll be much good at it. I don't think we have much in common. You can stay with me too! At my man-...um...house." Cindy felt that using the word 'mansion' wouldn't impress Damaris. "I daresay we could find you a room somewhere..." She added sheepishly, trying her best to make it sound like her home didn't have entire wings with nobody inhabiting them.

Damaris nodded. "Sounds good, sir." She replied to Austin, offering a smile to Zin. She blinked in surprise as Cindy spoke to her. "Uhm... sure." she replied hesitantly. She actually had no idea where Cindy lived or how big her house was. "Would... that be ok? Staying with you, I mean."

Cindy gave Damaris a quizzical, innocent look. "Of course. Why wouldn't it be?" She asked. It never really occured to her that maybe Damaris hadn't realised that they could go days without seeing each other in her mansion, it was so big.
"I'm sure my chefs can even prepare whatever food you like too." She added, again, not having considered that having chefs might seem wierd to Damaris.
"And you can discover the gym with Zin too!" She added, trying to be chirpy about it, to encourage Damaris, but quite clearly 'chirpy' was not something Cindy was used to expressing. "At least, I think it's a gym. There were lots of sheets and I didn't exactly spend much time in there..."

Damaris considered Cindy's words in silence for a few moments. She didn't remember the last time she'd stayed in a proper house, not really. Sure, the Night Watch HQ was more or less her home now, but it wasn't exactly... homely. She had a suspicion that the last time she'd stayed in a real house, rather than a hostel or the floor of a kind stranger, was when she had lived at home with her parents and brother.... she shook her head slightly to get the thoughts of her family out of her head. That was a dangerous road to go down.
"That sounds wonderful," she replied sincerely. "But... I can cook for myself, I don't think I'd feel comfortable having someone else cook for me too often." She cocked her head at Cindy, inquisitive. "Won't you be joining us on our expedition to discover the gym then?" She asked with a smile.

Cindy wasn't sure if her cooks would appreciate somebody helping themselves in their kitchen. Somehow, she didn't imagine it was something they ever expected would come up in their careers as her chefs. Still, she suspected it would make a nice change for them, and they'd probably enjoy teaching Damaris their techniques.
She gave Damaris a shocked look at her suggestion. Discover the gym? She'd been in there once, and that was less than ladylike! Going back again would be ridiculous! "No, thank you. It is quite bad enough I know the word 'gym' in both English and Thai." She had had to listen to too many Thai noblemen bragging about the hours they spent there to remain ignorant of the word.
"But I do hope you'll enjoy it." She added with her most encouraging smile. "Let me know if it requires any restoration work, and I'll happily see that it's done." She wanted her guests to be happy, after all. Cindy never got to entertain guests anymore.

Zin looked between Austin and Cindy as they both spoke to her, she was a little overwhelmed by everything happening around her and all the people speaking in English - she understood words and by their body language she got context but it was all gibberish.
"Um," she assessed herself quickly, her leg was still a little tender but it was no where near as bad as it should have been, considering. She was tired and her bones ached something fierce, she felt a little queasy in all honesty, she'd probably eaten too quickly that or it could have been something she'd eaten while a Wolf. She remembered rooting through a few bins. "<I will take part. If its alright,>" she added a little shyly. She wasn't about to let her current condition get in the way of learning how to control herself again.
Cindy's offer of putting her up was unexpectedly touching, even if it was at Azrael's order, but her face practically lit up at the mention of a gym though.
She moved reflexively to hug the older woman but forced herself to stop short, Ladies didn't like touching fighters or children if memory served, add to that Cindy was wearing a very pretty dress - Zin didn't want to crease it.
"<Thank you, thank you very much.>" She pressed her hands together in a classic Christian Prayer motion and bowed deeply to everyone in turn, 'Wie', pronounced Wai, a gesture of greeting and great respect. No one had been this kind to her before in her life, nice yes, kind, no, not nearly.

Damaris gave Cindy a critical look. "Why do you even have a gym in your house if you never use it and don't intend to?" She asked sternly. "That would be like me having a walk-in wardrobe installed, or buying a grand piano and not learning to play."
She gave Cindy another exhasperated look and turned instead to Zin, giving the girl a warm smile. She didn't recognize the words, but she gleaned the general meaning - gratitude - and she did recognize the gesure of bowing with hands held as if in prayer, it was one she'd used herself many times while travelling, usually after staying the night at a stranger's house. She had noticed Zin moving as if to hug Cindy before catching herself, and held her arms open.
"You need not use such formality now, little one," she said, smiling, "you are among friends." She looked to Cindy briefly, meaning her to translate her words. Something about the younger wolf stirred the maternal instincts in her - she regretted that she had never had the chance to become a mother, she felt that she would have been quite good at it. Besides that, Zin was about the age that her brother, Alaric, would have been now and perhaps subconciously, she felt that taking care of Zin now would make up a little for failing to keep her brother safe all those years ago.

Azrael turned his attention to Austin. "Now that the matter is settled, I will take my leave." He found that he was much more awake now that he had something different to his normal routine to think about. He decided that he would go for a walk rather than go to the pub.

Cindy completely failed to notice any irritation in Damaris's voice, as she so often did. Instead, she answered with worrying sincerity, still without a clue that the others may find her home a little on the large side. "Well, the gym was there when I moved in, and it seemed more trouble than it was worth to get it removed. It's not like I visit the east wing much anyway." She explained earnestly. "Besides, I rather think it compliments the pool." She added with a smile.
She turned to Zin and tried not to look awkward at her bow, secretely glad that Zin hadn't hugged her, since that might have creased her dress. "<Damaris says that there is no need to be so formal. She says that you are amongst friends.>" Cindy explained carefully, keeping an eye on Damaris to let her know she was repeating her words. "<I happen to agree with her.>" Cindy added with another slightly awkward smile.

Azrael left the room and, shortly afterwards, had cleared the building too.

Zin hesitated, looking between Damaris with her open arms and warm smile and Cindy who had spoken, flushing slightly in hesitant embarrassment she smiled and tentitively hugged the older woman. Something just seemed to click in her head and she felt all the tense muscles in her back relax all at once, the girl burrowed her face into Damaris's shoulder, squeezing tightly as if afriad that this was all going to be torn away from her. True they were only trying to help her because of her pitiable circumstances but... ((I'M BACK!! ))

Damaris nodded to Azrael with a smile. "See you later," she said softly as he left. She turned to Cindy again, a look of utter disbelief on her face. "You... you have a pool." She shook her head. "You know what? Never mind. I'll just see the house for myself."
Damaris blinked once in surprise as Zin hugged her. Yes, she'd been hoping for it, but she wasn't sure the girl would take her invitation. She felt the tension in the contact at first, and then it all seemed to melt away as the girl buried her face into her shoulder. She held her tightly and stroked her hair gently. "It's ok, you're safe now." She said reassuringly. She didn't know what the young lycan had been through, but she could imagine, and it wasn't a nice thought.

Austin put his head on one side, half listening to their conversation while he considered the possible outcomes "sorry to bring you three crashing back to earth but is Cindy's mansion equipped to handle two lycans? One of whom can't control their shifting fully and the other at all?"
