"But..." Nico considered his statement. "If... you don't live here, or anywhere.... where did you come from?" She thought for a moment. "How long have you been gone from here?"

Leo stopped walking and was silent for a time, his eyes glazed over and his brow was thick with lines. His expression was one of a man deep in thought.
The silents lengthened for a time, then he suddenly spoke "I lived here for a long time. Years... long years ago..." He fell silent again, "... I was gone... but I have returned..." he counted them on his fingers. "...three times over the years. This is the fourth... I have been gone..." he stopped taking again and the expression on his face was one of a man trying to figure something out. He gave up. "A very long time" He looked Nicola in the eyes hoping his answer would do.

Nico smiled gently and met Leo's eyes. "This is the first time I've been back here since I was about three. I don't remember much about it though." She looked around. "Was it always this dark?"

"Yes" Leo said simply, everyone knew the town was always in darkness.

"Oh." Nico let her eyes fall to the ground, feeling stupid. She stayed silent for a while, and then: "How old are you?" She asked, lifting her eyes to his face again.

Leo stood silent for a very very long time. "... ... ... old... older than most... younger than some. I am Lycan, it is common for us to live long"

"Helpful." Nico said, laughing. She smiled at Leo again. "I'm sorry, I... I shouldn't have laughed. I guess I just don't understand your concept of time...." She shrugged "Must be different for a lycan. But... you must have some idea how old you are?"

Leo gave her an odd look when she laughed. He thought again "Older than the demon war" he said hoping that would help.

Nico looked utterly confused. "Demon war? What demo..." She stopped, remembering. "My dad used to tell me about some war when I was little... about how there were demons in the world, vampires and werew....lycans, and people all fighting against them..." She looked at him quizically. "You mean that actually happened? I thought it was just a story."

"Yes it happened" he seemed not to want to go into the subject.

Nico wanted to ask more questions, but didn't press the matter. He doesn't seem to want to talk about it. I guess maybe he fought or something... She changed the subject quickly. "Do you actually know where we're going?" She asked.

"Perhaps, development had been great since I was last here" Leo looked around. "There is one place I would advice not to go" He looked to wards the skyscraper in the center of town. "I dislike that way" was all he said. "We shall continue the way you suggested walking this way. You never know, we may find something"

Nico followed Leo's gaze to the centre of town, but said nothing. She sensed that it was another subject he didn't want to talk about. "Alright. Whereever the fancy takes us, I guess?" She smiles at him again. "I'd tell you how much it's changed since I was here, but I can't remember."

"Yes" agreed Leo, still beside Nicola.

Nico glanced sidelong at Leo. "Is there a reason you speak that way?" She asked casually.
