Damaris eyed Markus suspiciously. She wasn't sure whether to trust Markus or not. On one hand, he was Alucard's brother, and Alucard was in the Circle, so he must at least know about it. On the other hand, Markus wasn't in the Circle, and there had to be a reason for it.
"I'm... going to see a friend of your brothers." She replied cautiously. "I know the way..." I think. She added silently, fingering the card in her coat pocket.

Markus stared at Damaris for a moment before rubbing his stubble and speaking.
"Friend of Alucards hey? Now, that's either Jaden or Kitten. And you hardly seem like Kitten's type." He mumbled the last bit.
"I'm not going to pry though. You're sure you know where to go right?" he double checked, before continuing; "They are both currently... Ah, "Occupied" with work right now though so it may be a while until you see whoever it was you wanted to see. Would you like to have some company on the way?" He finished, hoping she would say yes.

Damaris gave Markus another suspicious look.
"I can wait." She said bluntly. Part of he wanted to take Markus up on his offer - after all, it would be nice to have someone to talk to while she waited. On the other hand, she didn't know much about him, and she didn't know how Austin would react to her showing up with someone else.
She thought about it for a while, and reached a desicion. She didn't have to walk all the way there with Markus, she could just wait around the corner or something. She had a feeling that getting rid of Markus wouldn't be easy.
"Sure, why not?" She replied, brushing her hair out of her eyes.

Markus smiled, as if a plan had gone his way. Of course there was no plan, but he acted like there was one.
"So, where are we... I mean, you meeting this friend of Alucard's then?" he asked, signaling her to lead the way.

Damaris sighed. This Markus guy was starting to get really annoying.
"To be honest, I'm not entirely sure.I know it's somewhere in the South of town, but being kinda new around here, I'm only vaguely sure of where I should be going." She replied, mixing a lie or two in with the truth. She knew the exact address, but truthfully she wasn't sure where that was.

Markus sighed, being somewhat able to read Damaris' body language.
"Do I really seem that shady?" He asked with a frown. "I just try to help someone new to town and they throw it in my face." He took a small map book out of his pocket and showed it to Damaris. It was very tattered and old, but accurate enough for today's roads. "Do you want this or the Markus to show you the best way there?" He asked bluntly, losing all his charm to the fact he was Irratated

Damaris blanched.
"....sorry." She said quietly, embarrased. She hadn't realised that she was probably coming off as offensive.
"It's just, well.... I got told to go the Circle's HQ and... to be honest I didn't know if I could trust you, after..." she gestured to the bodies of Graham and Phatima. She wondered briefly what had happened to Yumi, but pushed the thought out of her mind. She could go look for her tomorrow, or tell this Jaden guy that there was a young lycan looking for him and let him deal with it. Besides, she'd seemed pretty capable.
She pushed aside the rest of her doubts about Markus. She was tired, and if it turned out that she'd made a mistake trusting him then, well... she'd let Austin and Co. deal with it.
"Shall we go then?" She asked politely.

Markus suddenly regained his demeanor and was his charming, grinning self again.
"But of course. I'm a good friend of Austin Darkora, the leader of The Circle. In fact, I was just there today. I think it was today anyway. When it's always night one doesn't need to keep track of the time."
He rummaged through his coat and pulled out an old ID card. It indicated he was once a member of The Circle himself. He showed it to Damaris
"Those were the days. I was good friends with Jaden too. Mind, I hardly see him now. They're always off chasing one thing or another." He grew quieter as he spoke, as if just reminding himself of the past.

Damaris nodded and raised an eyebrow as they walked. She knew she ought to let Markus lead the way, but she'd never been one to follow unless she had to.
"So... why aren't you in the Circle now?" She asked, more from feeling the need to say something than any real interest. Still, it was always good to know something about the people you traveled with.

Markus thought for a moment. Why did he leave? "I suppose it just wasn't working out for me. Besides, I'm hardly a fighter. I mean sure, I carry around a shotgun, but I just use it to scare off scum." He explained, suddenly changing direction and heading towards an underpass. He spotted a pair of hooded figures loitering in the underpass, one he noticed to be a vampire, the other human. Time to prove my point...

Damaris blinked as Markus turned unexpectedly, and turned to follow him. She spotted the two hooded figures and shrugged, prepared to walk past them. However, she got the feeling that Markus wasn't just going to ignore them and stopped near the end of the underpass, leaning against the wall.

"They must be gone by now..." he thought to himself, opening his eyes. Standing up, he opened the cupboard under the sink, and pulled out a small first aid kit, opened it up and poured the bottle of antiseptic over the wound in his chest, before applying a hasty dressing. After the dressing was done, he grabbed one of the cleaner mugs on the side, and poured a glass of water. "It feels like I've been there for days..." He picked up his guns and holstered them, smoothed down his clothes as best he cared to do, and headed out the door. "That traitor Markus... Since it would seem I no longer have a contract... I guess I can give myself one..."

Markus walked straight towards the duo. "Not tonight lads. Not while I'm around." He said fircely, a voice he rarely used. The two figures backed away from him. Markus continued to apprach them until they started running. He stopped, smirked and turned to Damaris. "Those two are trouble. They mug people, but the vampire bleeds them dry as the human gets the valuables." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I suppose I'm just doing my little bit for our community." He said sarcasticly as he slung the shotgun over his shoulders.

Damaris raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed, but nodded politely anyway. "I see." She said blandly. She didn't doubt his words, but she also didn't see why it was necessary to show off in that way. After all, it wasn't like she couldn't defend herself.
She looked about, pushed herself of the wall and adjusted the quiver on her back. The closer she got to their destination, the more aware she became of her bloody and dishevelled appearance, and the more nervous she became. She shoved her long hair out of her face and twisted it into a rough knot at the base of her neck to stop it getting into her eyes.
"Shall we?" She asked, heading off down the alley.

Markus sighed and proceeded towards their destination. He didnt like difficult women, he wasn't used to them. But then again, he was hardly used to were wolves. He remained quiet for a few minutes before asking "...What's with the appearance anyway?" He asked, looking down at his own attire. "But then, I can't really say much!" He noticed the quiver of arrows too. "And why do you use a Bow and Arrow? It's a little... Old fashoned." He smirked, thinking about his little brothers obsession of modern weaponry.
