"Mm..." Said Eleri, nodding absently. She was thinking, mentally ticking off things from her 'To Do' list.
They had a phone, there'd be decent uniforms soon, which Wright would wear whether he liked it or not, Hadrian's family was providing funds for some decent equipment, the Station was... messfree. She wouldn't call it tidy by a long shot, but mess-free was a start...
She became aware of a sharp, stinging pain in her hand. Two of her fingers were sporting fresh papercuts, which were bleeding. She sucked them vaguely, staring into space.
After a few moments, she became aware of what she was doing and whipped her hand away from her mouth, embarassed. She reached for the cream she'd assulted Wright with and applied it to her own little injuries.

Wright looked across at Eleri, and sighed. He still looked like he'd fallen out of an aeroplane. Down a mountain. Into a meat grinder. So someone making a fuss over papercuts seemed a little overly fussy for him.
Mind you, he guessed he needed that. Someone who was fussy made him do the stuff he didn't want to do, because he was anything but fussy...
"Right. Time's up." Wright decided, getting out of his chair. "Pub?" He asked in a manner that suggested it wasn't at all a question.

Eleri looked up sharply. She was about to voice an objection, but didn't.
We might as well. She thought. There's nothing else to do now, and I might as well find out where the Captain spends his time when he's not here...
She nodded.
"You might want that spare shirt, though sir." She said.

"What? Why?" Wright asked innocently, before remembering. He looked down, considered going anyway, sighed, gave up, and marched into one of the back offices with a 'you win' look.
'Spare' was certainly the word. 'Clean' was not. But somehow, Wright gave off the vibe even a pristine white shirt would crumple and wrinkle as soon as he put it on. The man would crumple steel armour if he wore it...
"Right. Let's go!"

Elizabeth knocked cautiously on the front door of the Edgehaven Police Station, shifting slightly as the strap for her shotgun. The older woman frowned and looked around, she kind of understood now why she hadn't heard of the Edgehaven Police, it seemed depressingly small and even now she couldn't see how they had much of a chance against the creatures that lingered in the darkness.
The curly haired woman had changed out of her skirt and blouse and into a pair of jeans and a sweater, a sleeveless jacket - its pockets bulging with shotgun shells - and the black strap of said 12 guage across her chest gave her a small comfort as she stood in the dark and shivered slightly before just... pushing her way in.
Odd. The door wasn't even locked.
Green eyes widened at the state of the police station and the woman shook her head, Inner!Neat-Freak-Mother rattling against mental bars to get a duster and bin-liner to clean up. "Hello? Captain Wright? Miss Mortymer? Hadrian? Sweetie?" She called into the darkness before flipping a light-switch and stepping in. Shaking her head at the general untidiness of the room before closing the door behind her and locking it, setting her shotgun down the older woman rolled up her sleeves and got to work.
Cleaning up was the least she could do for the Captain after he had saved her and her children from that werewolf.
The woman went through each of the desks, checking over the paperwork she found and sorting them into piles for the officers to deal with at a later date, she dug out ancient stationary and put them back in their proper places, took a wet rag over almost every surface, wiping away dried blood, coffee, tea, booze and dust, leaving somewhat battered but still useable wood and plastic. She even went as far as attaching the cloth to a collection of rulars she'd sellotaped together to swipe away at the cobwebs that lingered in the corners of the station. During her cleaning she found a number of medals, trophies and plaques in honour of Officers who had done great things and polished them up, setting them in a cabinate that had been full of empty dusty bottles, displaying them proudly.
She even found a little captain's plate and polished it up and set it on Wright's desk - after emptying it of its bottles and anything that was mouldering in the corners of the draws.
Standing back Lizzie wiped at her forehead and looked around the now clean offices with a broad smile, all that was needed now was to mop the floor, but they could do that themselves. Digging into her jacket pockets, she withdrew an old whiskey bottle from her inside pockets, she had decided to keep it in the inner pockets instead of taking a bag with her because having a bag or something similar would just grab attention and bring muggers onto her. Setting the expensive old Whiskey onto the Captain's desk she moved to what she assumed was Miss Mortymer's desk and laid out a second item. A megaphone.
If her handle on Captain Wright was correct, Miss Eleri would need it to shout at him. And as much as Lizzie may have found the Captain attractive/cute, girls needed to stick together.
Smiling wickedly, she picked up her shotgun, turned out the lights and left once again. Making her way home with a distinctly wolfish grin on her face, mentally promising herself to show up when the Captain was there to see how he liked the Whiskey.
It was only polite anyway.

Eleri burst through the door of the station. She stood in the doorway for a few seconds, letting her slightly fuzzy vision adjust. The first thing she noticed was that it had been cleaned. Scrubbed, even. She felt a brief stab of guilt that it hadn't been her that had done it - although she suspected she knew who had.
Her suspicions were confirmed when she saw the whisky on Wright's desk and the megaphone on hers. Elizabeth... she thought, smiling. Then she remembered that there was a giant demon on its way to squash her.
"Ok, weapons..." she muttered. She looked about - 'behind that big pile next to the big pile, y'know, over from the big pile' didn't really help now that there were no piles. Against her better judgement, she decided to let Wright handle that one. Instead, she raced into the room she'd changed in earlier, she was sure she'd seen some rope in here.
Sure enough, after a few seconds of searching, she found a coil of rope on the floor in the corner. She grabbed it and ran back into the main room of the office. Now what they needed was something heavy.... She grabbed the megaphone, incase it came in handy - well, they needed to get it mad, didn't they? Shouting insults at her brothers had always worked, and Eleri couldn't see a reason it wouldn't work on a demon.

Wright looked around, horrified. "Where is everything!?" He cried in dismay. "What happened? Why are things...shiny?" It seemed like a foreign concept to him. "This is the worse thing that ever- Ohhh, Whiskey!" Wright grabbed it. "Right. I'm gonna need that." He took a swig.
"Well, free whiskey. That's almost worth the random hell demons. Wonder if they came from the same place..." He pondered, before dashing into a back cupboard.
"Nope. No. No. Broken. No. Hairdryer." Came his voice as he went through every available weapon in what turned out to be the old police evidence locker. Since they'd ended up taking more guns off criminals than they were originally outfitted with, it was really the best place for weapons. Or would be, had Wright taken any evidence in the last twenty years... "Ah ha!"
He walked back out with a shotgun in his hands, and grinned, cocking it. "This'll do." He decided, before also pulling out an old rusty hook. "This too. Tie it to the rope." He instructed Eleri without really thinking about what to do if she said 'no'. Or more likely, 'why'.
He then crouched down and got to work ripping up the floorboards, without a word of explanation...

Eleri gave Wright a disapproving look as he swigged from the whiskey bottle. She'd have to have words with Elizabeth about encouraging him.
She looked puzzled for a second and the strange order and opened her mouth to ask why. Then she thought better of it. She laid the megaphone down again and attached the hook to the rope with a sturdy knot.
When she was finished, she put it down on the desk next to the megphone and stepped over to the cupboard Wright had just revealed, being careful not to step on Wright or fall through the emerging holes in the floor.
She rummaged inside and found a pair of dusty .44 Magnums. These should do a good bit of damage she thought, mentally comparing it to her small Browning. She checked the barrel and... yep, both fully loaded. She hoped they would still fire - she had no idea how long they'd been in there. She made a mental note to check the rest of the weapons in that cupboard - someone hadn't been doing their job properly.
Checking the safety catch to make sure she didn't blow her own foot off by accident, she laid them on the desk with the rest of the growing pile of equipment and looked at Wright.
"Need a hand, sir?" She asked.

Wright looked up from the torn floorboards, revealing the piping below. "I need that something heavy. And get ready to get up to the roof. One of you stay out in the street. I need someone to catch me." Wright ordered, without being too specific as to what exactly his current insane plan entailed.
"Might wanna give me the lighter too." He pulled up one last floorboard, revealing without a shadow of a doubt what he had been looking for.
The gas pipes.
"They run right under the station." He explained. "Always thought it was some kind of health and safety hazard, but then I remembered we live in a town full of monsters and realised it's probably the least of our worries." The demon roared, outside in the street somewhere, causing havok.
"Now just to get 'em open..." He held out his hand for the something heavy, apparently expecting Eleri or Hadrian to materialise it out of thin air...

Hadrian shook his hand and staggered into the room dragging one of the heavy metal cell doors, slipping on the floor as he dragged it as hard as he could - considering how it weighed a good five times heavier than he himself getting it this far was an accomplishment for him.
"Is this heavy - argh - enough?" He asked, slipping slightly and giving the door an extra hard tug as he finally reached the other man.

Eleri finally caught on to what Wright was thinking and blanched. "You're going to blow up the station?!?" She yelled. Even in her inebriated state, it seemed crazy. "You're actually going to blow up the goddamn station?!? After all the bloody work that went into cleaning it?!" The demon roared - it was almost on top of them now - and Eleri shook her head. There'd be time to yell at Wright later - she hoped. "I can't believe we're doing this." She muttered. She looked around for something heavy. As she was doing so, she noticed Hadrian dragging up the cell door. "That's from the empty cell, right?" She asked. A thought was nudging at her conciousness. Eventually it broke through. "Those vampires and the lycan aren't still down there are they? Tell me they've already been picked up..." ((Edited cuz Hadrian slipped a post in while I was typing ))

Wright took the door, and was pulled down by the weight. He grunted, refused to say anything out of pure masculine pride, and hefted it up, trying his best to not look like it was at all heavy.
"Well, if they haven't been picked up, they're not going to be." Wright pointed out with a sigh. He hadn't stopped to think. Of course he hadn't. The police station was his home, and had been for most of his life. He'd actually been trained there when they'd needed somewhere to train the new recruits, back in the day, when the police had multiple stations. There was nowhere more important to him than the police house.
"Hey, at least I think polish is flammable." He added, in an attempted justification, and lifted the door, slamming it down hard on the gas pipes. It took a few attempts, but eventually he broke through, and gas began to leak into the air. "Just make sure you're not here tomorrow morning when Nolan and Sampson arrive for work and see what I've done." He added with a hint of sadness.
"Right, we need to get that demon angry enough to break inside." Wright decided. "Grab the rope. We're going to the roof. I have an idea."
He paused on his way, holding the shotgun.
"Urm, one of you might have to ignite the station. 'cause, urm, this one....this one could hurt." Unlike fighting a werewolf, apparently, this time Wright was aware he was about to end up in a lot of physical pain.
He headed to the door, and turned to look around the station one more time. He sighed, and thought back to the morning. So much had changed in the course of a day.
Well, there was no looking back now.
He left without saying anything, into the street, to work his way to the roof...

Eleri sighed, picked up one of the Magnums and threw it to Hadrian. "Get up on the roof with the Captain. I'm going to make sure there's nobody else here." Elizabeth especially she added mentally. She didn't say anything because she didn't want to upset Hadrian. "I'll follow you up in a minute and light the gas on my way."
She rushed down to the basement. It was empty. She guessed they'd been picked up before Nolan and Sampson left. She went back up the stairs and checked the other rooms. When she was satisfied they were empty, she made her way back to the main part of the station, leaving all the doors open as she did. She made sure, however that the door to the basement was shut - they'd probably need somewhere to wait out the blast after all.
She looked around for a moment and found what she was looking for. Her canvas backpack lay discarded and empty in a corner. She retrieved it, picked up the megaphone from the table and put in inside. She strode to the weapons cabinet and added the more usuable weapons, just in case. She glanced at the kettle and decided against it. She'd miss that kettle. It'd made some good tea in its time.
She picked up the other Magnum and slipped it through her belt. The gas was making her queasy and in her state, that was the last thing she needed. She glanced up at the roof of the station and did some calculating. The gas was spreading at a pretty fast rate, so it shouldn't be long until the whole place was a bomb waiting to go off. On the other hand, if Wright was planning what she thought he was, it would go up too fast...
She stuck the lighter in her back pocket, slung the bag onto her shoulder and left the station.

Wright fired the shotgun at the demon a few times, until it moved sufficently closer to him, apparently having already set fire to a few houses in the street. People were fleeing everywhere. It was chaos.
Wright knew they were running out of time, so took the rope, swung it around like a lasso, and hurled it at the demon.
Unfortunately, he completely missed, and was nearly pulled off the rope by the weight of the hook as it fell. He pulled it back up, and sighed. Apparently, he wasn't a cowboy in a previous life.
"This might take a few attempts..." He warned the arriving Eleri.

Hadrian growled and snatched the rope from the Captain, "For a cop you've got crappy aim!" He snapped and took a step back as he began to spin it before hurlling it across the empty space and hooking it into the Demon's shoulder and thrusting the remains of the rope at the Captain. "All yours!"
