If the slowly budding migraine wasn't causing him pain, then Felix was fairly certain he would have cracked up laughing by this point. As it was, he pinched the bridge of his nose and tried not to think about how much Kana was enjoying the circus act taking place in front of him.
"Dillon," he began, preparing to scold the human before sighing and giving up that avenue of conversation. It wasn't like Dillon could help it or prevent his behaviour. Instead, he turned to Austin, "I'm sorry about Dillon, he's not quite... He doesn't quite understand how his behaviour can be taken certain ways," he explained. God knew how many fights almost broke out because of his friend's behaviour. He didn't want to tell the Lycan that his friend had brain damage, that wasn't his business and Felix had no right giving that information away, so how to explain how he may have been mistaken for a hat-stand without getting everyone shot?
"In his mind, if there's a hat on it, it must be a hat-stand. He meant no harm."

Austin nodded and sighed, understanding full well the problems that psychiatric illnesses could cause for those that didn't understand them. "I understand" he replied, using a flick of his wrist to propel the hat back towards its owner before looking over his shoulder to Azrael "We should be going, the trail will be cold before long"

Dillon looked at the hat in his hand, crestfallen. He looked distraught. He'd never felt this way before.
"I just got rejected by a hat stand!" He exclaimed, Austin's protests of not being one falling on deaf ears. He waved his hat in front of Felix's face, to prove the point.
"Look! It got thrown right back at me! Rejected! By a hat stand!" He cried in despair, slumping on to the bar stool and folding his arms miserably.
"I need the happy make good drink." He sulked.

Kana sat in silence watching the slight mayhem unfolding in the bar. He had a simple smirk on his face right up until Austin uttered the line 'I am not a hat-stand', at which point he couldn't help but let out a short, barking laugh which he hastily covered up by clearing his throat and sipping his wine, though the smirk had gotten bigger.
"Well, your clientele isn't all bad." He remarked to Felix casually, with a nod at Dillon. He was wondering whether to address Austin, as the wolf didn't seem to have noticed him, but decided against it. If he was noticed, he would deal with it. How he would do so with his customary straight face was another matter.

"Most of the people here a due a visit to the vet," Azrael explained to Austin. Although Dillon was quite a surprising character. Surely he couldn't be THAT stupid. He must've been putting it on to insult Austin.

Felix refrained from patting Dillon on the head, he looked rather miserable at the perceived snub. Pouring the Slayer his preferred drink he nodded at Kana, "Could be worse, the police could be here. Now that would be..... Well," he trailed off and gave Dillon his drink, deciding not to elaborate on that one because he didn't have a clue about what would happen. Either way it would be messy.
He shot a brief dark glare at Azrael after that comment, fingernails digging harshly into the bar.
He held his tongue though as he collected Dillon's hat and set it aside, "You hungry?" he asked the unhappy Slayer, Felix's headache was reaching monolithic proportions and he just wanted a few minutes alone, sorting out some breakfast for the Slayer would give him that time away from the Watch and it would make sure the human ate something at least. He was usually away for most of the day and night that God only knew when he actually stopped doing whatever he was doing to eat something. If he did.

"...anyway... to the matter in hand; she went out the back, yes?" He asked Azrael, quietly enough that only he could properly hear it, gesturing with his hand to indicate the path that Carla would have taken - with a little concentration he could practically see her walking it.
He guessed he would have been able to follow the demon's scent even if his head was in a bucket - after a life time of fighting demons, it was a scent he was very used to.

"Yes. I didn't see or hear any transport."
Speaking of transport...
"You took your bike again, didn't you? Before you break every speeding rule invented, please remember that I am only human and do not have a helmet." Azrael was only being jestful, but his experiences of being on the back of Austin's bike were usually frightful. A werewolf didn't have as much to worry about, after all.

Austin shook his head, grinning at the memories Az's comments invoked "Nah, I took the car, if I'd taken the bike you'd've heard me from four blocks away" he chuckled as more memories came back to him "Okay, lets get on the trail" He headed towards where Carla's trail dropped out of sight, sauntering behind the bar with an air of Authority "Don't mind me, official Night Watch business, I'll be outta here before you know it" he said to Felix, concentrating mostly on Carla's trail

He tensed slightly at the perceived invasion of his space before jerking a thumb towards the living room, "She slept the night on the couch if you want to get a better sample of her scent," he grunted.

"I appreciate your help, but I'd know her scent anywhere, Demons are rather... distinctive..." he replied kindly before looking over his shoulder to Az "Go around the outside, I'll meet you there" he looked back to Felix "Mind if I go through the back way, I need to follow her scent trail completely" Austin considered that he could just barge his way through anyway and put it down to persuit of duty but he knew that it wouldn't make him any friends - there were times to be polite.

He waved a hand, "Its not like I can stop you. Go ahead. If you catch her, tell her she owes me roughly £36.75 for all the whiskey she knocked back last night and to pay for the bullet holes from earlier," he stated flatly, again, he doubted he would get it but fuck it, he just really wasn't happy about this.
He needed painkillers.

"I'll see what I can do, I wouldn't hold your breath though, if there's something I've learned through the years it's that demons don't exactly hold up on their word" he replied, keeping his tone friendly "thanks for your help" he finished before searching momentarily in one of his pockets and tossing the vampire a packet of painkillers "for your trouble" he added before heading off through the back - following Carla's scent trail as easily as if she'd left him a painted line. I probably shouldn't have read his mind but it was far too obvious... and I couldn't resist

Felix caught the packet and gave them a brief look before staring after the Werewolf's departing back.
He blinked.
Once. Twice. And then turned to Kana.
"Did I just get mind raped?" he asked in complete bewilderment, not quite sure if he should feel disturbed, angry or just shrug it off like he usually did when someone decided it would be a good idea in their alcohol fueled stupidity to strip naked in his establishment. (He often took somewhat sadistic pleasure in waiting until they were completely naked before blasting them with the water hose - which was icy cold - and then throwing them out.)

Dillon looked up from his hat for a moment and growled in an uncharacteristically serious voice: "Idiots don't even realise she's only half a demon." Before returning to his hat, apparently completely unaware that he'd said anything.
Nobody really knew why Dillon could identify species as easily as he did. Especially not Dillon himself. He put it down to his 'Awesome Sword Sense', which made about as much sense as anything he said.
He then looked up to Felix and said in his normal tone of voice: "You let the hat stand go! Now where am I gonna put my hat!?"
