Hadrian trundled along beside Eleri, unaware of her attempts to speak to him as he concentrated solely on the texture of the pavement beneath their feet. When they reached the station he quickly opened the door at the older woman's behest before eyeing the place dully. Half expecting Myra to peer down from the filing room wearing a faint trace of a frown and ask why they were covered in blood and injured.
She didn't and he wasn't sure if he should be grateful for it, but either way, he was numb to it.

Eliza was proud of herself. She'd worked out Tori didn't mean real babies, but her guns, and she'd done it all on her own! She didn't ask to borrow the nightstick for now though. She didn't want to have to hold the heavy object.
"Oh, I was, like ignoring him, 'cause like the blood made me feel all, like, sick." She said with a disappointed shrug. Great! Now she'd missed out on hot-guy. Maybe she could track him down and look later? Eliza was only the type to look. Actually chasing relationships tended to interfere with what Eliza considered fun stuff. Now, what did they say his name was...?
"OHMIGOD!!!" She suddenly shrieked, flailing her hands around in excitement. "Do you, like, realise who that was!? That was, like, Hadrian Beaumont! Like, Elizabeth Beaumont's son! Ohmigod!!!"

Eleri glanced up the stairs as well as she poured a shots-worth of the whiskey in to two mugs. She thought about calling Myra down, but decided against it. She'd probably start fussing over Hadrian, and she wasn't sure if he needed that right now.
Instead, she set one of the mugs on a desk in front of Hadrian. "You don't have to drink that, but I'd suggest it." She said kindly, before downing her own shot. She pulled a face and put the mug down on her desk, sitting down on the edge to take the weight off her leg.
"If you feel like it, go take a shower. I can cover anything that happens here for a while." She gave him the most encouraging smile she could manage, although she couldn't stop worrying about him.

He held the mug briefly, he never realised but he had rather long fingers, pale too. There was blood under his nails.
He knocked back the whiskey in one and coughed, choking on the strong alcohol like a greenhorn. Clearly displaying that he wasn't one for heavy drinking or strong liquor.
"Yeah, yeah thanks, I..." he picked at the dry blood until it was almost painful before setting his mug down and getting to his feet, looking awkward, "I'll just... Shout if you need me," he muttered guiltily as he shuffled out.

Tori blinked at Eliza's sudden outburst and stepped back a bit. She didn't know it was possibly for a human to make a noise that high-pitched. Then she felt a little embarrased, like the name should mean something to her. It did ring a bell, but she didn't know why, or why it was such a big deal for Eliza.
"Uhm... who?" She asked sheepishly.

Eliza gave Tori a 'I can't believe you don't know this' look, which, coming from her was a little rich. "Like, duh! Beaumont jewellery!" She pulled from around her neck a delicate but expensive looking necklace, and waved it at Tori. She was, apparently, expecting Tori to faint from how amazingly beautiful this was, but when it didn't happen, pressed on regardless.
"Like, I forgot! I heard her son was, like, in the police, but like, I didn't, like think of it!" Eliza said this as if her not thinking of something was shocking, and not something that happened every minute of every day.
"Like, I love her stuff! Like, I get the catalogues all the, like, time, and I'm always saving up. And like, the new line is like, out soon, and like, I can't wait! It's like, so totally awesome!"

Eleri watched as Hadrian downed his shot, with some difficulty, and picked at the dried blood under his nails. She shifted a little as he shuffled off to the shower and then, once he was out of sight, she pulled herself of the desk, dumped the mugs in the sinks with one hand and rummaged for something to use as a splint. In all the confusion, she'd forgotten about the inconvienience of having a broken leg. Truthfully, she would have left it, but she really didn't want the bones to set awkwardly and cause more problems.
Annoyingly, the only thing she could find at hand was the wooden stake Wright had shown her on her first day. She shrugged. It would do, even if it was stupidly ironic. She snapped the bones into place with a grimace, tied it in place with a bandage that she had in her desk. That done, she limped in to the small toilet that stood off the main office.
She washed her face, awkwardly, at the sink and then caught sight of herself in the mirror. A few seconds later, she sank down on the floor with her back against the door. Whether it was the sheer despair radiating off Hadrian, her own horror at what she'd seen briefly through him or just the overwhelming effect of the whole horrible mess, she wasn't sure. It didn't make a difference either way, she simply laid her head on her knees and sobbed.

Wright sat back against the far wall, surveying the crime scene. Something didn't add up. They'd fallen for a classic ploy. There was no evidence. Dawn had just told them she was unhooking the IV feeds, and they'd all rushed down here, because it wasn't a risk they could take. But Dawn was manipulative. And Wright, asking himself what he'd of done, Wright would have lied. He knew he was a bastard deep down. He'd of lied and set up an ambush down here, if he really wanted them gone.
But Dawn wanted to protect her kin. That was what this had all been about. So, she wouldn't have risked them in an open engagement. But why tell the whole truth?
Wright spotted something that grabbed his attention. He made his way towards one of the packs that had been containing one of the deceased victims. Blood was splattered all over the floor, still bright and not yet fully dried out. But it was on the floor from Hadrian's efforts, not over the bodies or the actual stretchers the victims had been tied to. There was a spot, just a spot, of blood on the stretcher. Wright headed over and looked. It was dark red, congealed, and yet somehow still liquid. Human's blood didn't do that.
Wright felt a cold chill running up his spine. Human blood didn't do that. Vampires did. But vampires never let themselves bleed. Not unless they were-
"HADRIAN! ELERI!" He suddenly bellowed in to his radio, turning on his foot and storming back up the stairs towards the street. "BACK UP! NOW!" He screamed, knowing what was coming. "THEY WEREN'T DYING! HADRIAN COULDN'T SAVE THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT DEAD!" He yelled, bursting out of the door on to the main street.
He spotted his two rookies, obviously confused by his sudden appearance. He spotted the paramedics. For a moment, he prayed he was wrong. Everything was calm. And then, from one of the ambulances with the body bags in, he heard a tear, and a paramedic went hurtling out.
"....They're undead." He said in to the radio in a breathless whisper. And feral, judging by the throw. Of course. Newly sired vampires, but still part of Dawn's bloodline. She could control them just like she had Eleri. Probably easier, since they were newly turned and confused.
"Flowers! Get this area clear, now!" He snapped. Now really was the time for snappy orders. "Kane, I'll take that pistol, thank you very much." Sign number two, that Wright was very serious, just behind using first names, was asking for a gun.
Five feral vampires. He'd stood toe to toe with one dhampire. Guns wouldn't kill them, but he could use them to slow them down. In his one free hand, he drew his truncheon. The stake on the other end had seemed like a silly idea a while ago, but right now, it was needed.
He'd kept himself restrained fighting Eleri. He kept himself restrained all the time. But now wasn't the time for that. He knew there was a killer somewhere inside him. And he felt like he was about to need it.

Tori's eyed widened in comprehension. "Oooh, her. Oh, that's cool. I never got any of her stuff myself, but I think my mom has a few bits."
Anything else she ws about to say was cut off by Wright's dramatic arrival. She nodded, dumbfounded and handed over one of her guns to the captain, pulling the other one for herself. She thrust the nightstick at Eliza. "I sure hope you know how to use that." She said, all traces of girlyness gone. Vampires. Damn! she thought. Talk about baptism by fire!
"Orders, sir?" She asked, hovering beside Wright while checking the guns ammunition.

Eleri's head snapped up as her name was bellowed through her radio. Before Wright had finished screaming his explanation, she'd hauled herself up, not even pausing to wince at her tender leg, brushed the stray tears out of her eyes and strode as fast as she could into the main office. The very fact that the captain had used their first names alerted her to the seriousness of the situation, everything else was just details.
"HADRIAN!" She yelled. "EMERGANCY! MOVE OUT!" She didn't know whether he would have heard the radio call or not, but she wasn't going to waste time repeating it. She grabbed the keys to the police van from her desk just as the last part of Wright's message came through the radio. "Oh shit..." she whispered.
"I'm going to get the van started!" She called to Hadrian. "Meet me out there. Now!" On her way out, for good measure, she grabbed an extra night stick from Myra's desk. She doubted Myra would need it right now. The crutches lay forgotten in the bathroom as Eleri hurtled out of the door.
Once she was sat in the drivers seat of the riot van, she allowed herself to feel the pain from her leg. The blood she'd drunk was like some kind of magic elixer, because her ribs barely hurt any more and even the broken leg hurt less now it had been properly set. She put the keys in the ignition and the van roared into life first time. Got bless Lizzie's generous nature. she thought. She pulled the van up to right outside the front door of the station and waited, praying Hadrian wouldn't be too long.

Hadrian had been in the process of unbuttoning his shirt when the call came in, not bothering to rebutton it, he grabbed his standard issue protective vest and wrenched it on, face hard and grim. Throwing himself out of the bathroom he barged into the records room to get Myra - they would need as much help on this as possible and the girl knew her heavy ammunition alright.
A bright yellow post-it attached to a filing cabinate told him that she had gone with Nolan to a small scale riot that had broken out in South Side at a rather grimy and rough pub.
Since she wasn't coming, he turned and ran out to the van where Eleri was waiting, pausing only once to pick up his weapons before he climbed in, "Myra's out with Nolan in South Side," he told her just in case she wondered why the other girl wasn't with them. No doubt she would have heard Wright's radio transmittion along with Nolan and panicked. The second they got the riot under control they would immediately be rushing back - anyone with eyes could see how loyal Nolan was to Wright, if they didn't run the whole way, Hadrian would silver plate every Knight Stick in the building out of his own pocket.

Eliza took the nightstick with a wide eyed look of terror that said she most definitely didn't know how to use it and that in general she didn't want to. Still, it involved hitting, she knew that much.
Wright had ordered her to clear the area. Okay, that was easy. Eliza's inate girlyness did have it's advantages. "LIKE, EVERYBODY GO AWAY, LIKE, NOW!!!" She shrieked with a piercing high pitched wail that you just couldn't ignore. "Um, please?" She followed it up with, because Eliza believed such things were important and everybody was staring. "LIKE, MOVE!!!" She shrieked again, and because a person yelling in uniform carries more weight than the words usually would, people began to obey her.
Unfortunately, shrieking out loud to get attention from humans also got attention from non-humans. In fact, for vampires, it was a little like jumping up and down and screaming 'eat me, eat me!'.
One of the vampires, the 14 year old, whirled around and begun to approach Eliza, snarling. "Like...hiya..." Eliza said in a tiny, horrified voice, before suddenly getting a feeling those would be the words on her gravestone...

As soon as Hadrian was safely in the van, Eleri rammed her good foot down on the acceleration and sped back to the scene of the crime. She nodded at his news. "I wondered why she didn't come down when we got back." She said, swerving around a corner without slowing down. When it came to situations like this, Eleri's motto was road saftey be damned.
Not very long later, they pulled up on the road, just behind all the ambulances. The force with which Eleri slammed the brakes threw her forward in the seat a little, but it didn't seem to bother her because she was out of the door a second later, pulling her gun. She jumped down from the drivers seat, mis-aimed her bad leg and groaned. "Son of a bitch." She turned to Hadrian. "Remind me to throw the Captain down the stairs at some point when this is over."

Wright held the gun in his left hand, preferring to go with his right for the truncheon. Interestingly, he didn't aim with the gun, or even wield it like one. He practically held it like a melee weapon.
"Bullets won't kill vampires, and I'm not sure this lot will feel pain." He stated, already advancing on the one that had hurled the paramedic out of the ambulance. It looked like it was going to make a snack of him. "But you can still disable them."
"Take them alive. If you can. But if it comes to it, I want to be dusting, not using body bags, got it?" Wright didn't have time to wait and ran in full speed, catching the vampire and depriving it of its meal with a vicious blow to the side of it's head.
It snapped its head around to face him with an angry growl, and Wright placed the gun there and fired. He actually did wield it like a melee weapon, moving it rapidely down to the neck, planting it there, and then firing, like it was some kind of trigger activated knife.
He knew that blasting a vampire in the head and neck was a good idea. Both were hugely vulnerable areas, even vampires needed eyes to see, and with their neck punctured, they had to be careful their heads didn't fall off. Now staggered, all he had to do was knock the vampire unconscious. He lifted his truncheon.
The worse part was that he knew his plan would have worked. He knew that. It had all been going perfectly. It would have worked perfectly if a second vampire hadn't grabbed him by the back of his police vest and thrown him across the street at that exact moment.
He felt blinding pain as the stone wall behind him slammed in to him and he dropped to the ground. The gun was still looped around his finger, but his truncheon was long gone, and he could make out the blurry image of the vampire approaching his fallen form...

Hadrian clung to the handles on the inside of the van as Eleri broke nearly all traffic and movement laws, he figured Wright would understand and if not, he'd pay the Fines for her. He jumped down from the van at the same time and could only smirk when he heard the woman, "Will do," he affirmed before pulling out his weapons.
Just in time to see Wright hit the wall with a feral advancing upon him, a split second later, said Vampire had a couple of hundred volts being fed into it via Tazer wires biting into it's left thigh. "Wright, you okay?" he called to the older man, keeping the juice on even as he ran over and clubbed the spasming Vampire over the head and cut off the power. Using a pair of industrial cable ties, he bound the unconscious Vamp's wrists behind its back - as he didn't have any handcuffs and the cable ties were actually durable enough to hold back a Lycan's physical strength.
