Hadrian grinned briefly, he got the feeling he was going to get along smashingly with Lance Constable Kane, absolutely smashingly.
"Back of the van," he told her, a little startled over her calling him 'Sir' but he supposed he was higher ranked than her. It was just a surprise, he only really used 'Sir' on Wright, it seemed wrong to seperate him from the honorific, and 'Ma'am' on Eleri if he was in trouble. Still, while he liked Kane, he didn't really... he didn't really know her and after everything tonight and since he joined the force, he was a little less likely to trust a stranger.
Grabbing the Vamp by the shoulders he helped haul it into the back of the van before Eleri called out to him, nodding he dug out the cable ties from his vest and went about securing the unconscious vamps and chaining them in place to the van - just in case they woke up at some point between now and the station.
He sat down on the edge of the van as Wright came over and spoke to them, laying everything out and he smiled briefly, a little bitterly, at the man's comment regarding the people. He was glad he'd saved everyone he could, but so very, very angry at Dawn for having those people turned. As if it wasn't enough to steal ten years of their lives and god only knows how much of their blood but then she steals their deaths from them as well? Child or not he was slapping that brat.
"I'll take the night off if you do the same Captain. You're in the worse shape out of everyone here," Hadrian pointed out, the man was limping for christs sake, and he would probably be kicking himself for killing the other Vampire - Wright hated killing, hated guns, being Edgehaven he probably knew that sometimes you just couldn't bring them all in alive but on the other hand, he was a copper, a damn good one, and good coppers don't kill.

Eleri, perched on the drivers seat of the van with the door open, nodded in acknowledgement of Wright's words. Coming from him, that was pretty much praise, she figured. However, after his announcement that she would be helping Eliza pass her fitness test, she gave him a Look that practically burned. I suppose that's what you get for trying to kill your commanding officer, she thought.
She couldn't say she wasn't glad that he was giving them the rest of the night off - now the adrenaline was fading, all she wanted to do was go home, have a shower and collapse in bed. Maybe see a doctor in the morning about her leg. However, she also had to admit that Hadrian had a good point. As used as she was to seeing Wright in various stages of beaten-up, she'd feel guilty if she left him in that state after an attack like that. And he'd killed someone - that was bound to mess him up a little. He hated killing people.
"I second Hadrian," she said seriously. "You need a rest too. You're damn lucky I'm not dragging you to a hospital." She said the last part with a small smile - she knew exactly how Wright felt about hospitals, although she'd found it out the hard way after taking him to one soon after she and Hadrian were recruited.

Tori nodded and helped Hadrian to chuck the vamp in the back of the van, then left him to it. She didn't want to get in the way. She was leaning against the side of the van watching the two senior officers finish tidying up the vampires when captain Wright approached. She pushed herself off the van as he got closer and stood straight. She was surprised to notice that neither of the old two seemed fazed by his injuries - as if it was a normal thing.
Still, she beamed when Wright spoke to her, and her smile got even bigger at the promotion. "Geez, really? Wow, thank you sir!" She said still grinning. Well, her first day had gone better than expected and 'Constable Kane' had a much better ring to it than 'Lance-Constable Kane'.
When Hadrian and Eleri started arguing with the captain about time off, she stared, amazed. She doubted she'd have had the balls to talk to the captain like that. She got the feeling she was missing something and shrugged it off. Probably just a 'worked together a long time' thing.
"Uh.. sure thing, sir." She said, pausing in the act of walking away and turning back to Wright. She had no idea what he wanted and hoped she wasn't about to get told off after her promotion.

Eliza had sat in the passenger seat as Eleri advised, resting and feeling a little better as the captain spoke. She had been certain he was about to tell her off, and smiled when he finally complimented her. She didn't care that Tori had been promoted and that she hadn't, she didn't want a promotion anyway. She knew she wasn't ready for anything like that now.
It was nice he appreciated her though. She wondered if they all just felt sorry for her because they could see how scared she was. She couldn't understand how the others could remain so seemingly calm.
Still, the rest of the night off sounded nice. Truthfully, the thought of what to do next hadn't occured to Eliza, but now that she thought about it, going back to her apartment and cuddling up to her stuffed animals on the bed with hot chocolate, ice cream and watching cartoons sounded good to her...

Wright gave Eleri and Hadrian a smirk. "Oh, don't worry about me." He told them with a casual shrug. "I'm going home."
Of course, he knew they probably both knew as far as he was concerned, 'home' meant the Yard. He had a mattress in his office after all to sleep on, and didn't much see the point in leaving. Back in the old days, it had been better for him to simply collapse drunk at the police house without any pesky going to and fro a flat, and since then he'd always found it better to always be there. He owned a flat, somewhere, he knew. He just never had purpose to visit it.
He led Tori aside, and decided to think about how to phrase this. Damn. This didn't come naturally to him. "Constable Kane... Uhh, you're... I mean, you've...spoken...with Lance Constable Flowers, right? That's...probably about as close to friends as she's going to get." This was even harder than he thought. Wright could be grudgingly nice. Being out and out nice was really difficult. "....I want you to make sure she gets home safely, okay?" That sounded stupid, Wright realised, as soon as he said it. When he couldn't trust in his officers to go home on their own, then something was wrong.
But at the same time, he knew what Eliza was like. And yes, it had all seemed like a bit of a joke. And now she was one of his, and he had to look out for her. He didn't make it obvious, most of the time, but that was the job of a captain, wasn't it?
He thought about saying something else to justify this, failed, opened and closed his mouth a few times, and decided to just walk away. That was his job done.
He realised afterwards that Tori probably felt like she'd just been punished in a far worse way than getting disciplined...

Hadrian rolled his eyes in dull amusement regarding his Captain's antics and idly wondered if he should be cruel and inform his mother. On the other hand, an injured and (seemingly) helpless Captain Wright at the mercy of his mother, his mother who (shudder) had the hots for him... Aside from the fact he wouldn't be there to watch the hilarity, Wright would get him back for it, somehow, but he would.
Instead, the brunet climbed into the driver's seat of the van, deciding to drive everyone back to the Yard, well, apart from Miss Flowers who seemed to have her own car - and everything that was masculine within himself curled up and whimpered at the sight of the monstrosity he laid eyes on, cars like that should be crushed to put them out of their misery, not allowed on the roads.
He watched wearily as Wright spoke with Constable Kane about something or other, he looked awkward and uncomfortable, slightly guilty as well, probably giving her some bad news. Hadrian allowed himself to study the Captain, pin pointing his various injuries, the man really should go to the hospital, the young Corporal didn't want to think about what state he would be in in the morning. But the Captain being the Captain hated the hospital and would only barely tolerate first aid most of the time.
Hadrian smirked, well, if he was doing some recruitment behind his and Eleri's backs... why couldn't he do the same? With Eleri's help of course.
They could do with a medic on the Team anyway.

Tori followed Wright, thouroughly confused. "Uh... yeah, I guess. Sir." She said. Her eyes opened wide as she realised what she was being asked. "Yes, sir." She said, casting a doubtful eye towards Eliza. Getting her home safe meant getting back in the car. She stared after Wright, a little dumbfounded, and then walked over to Eliza.
"Come on, we should get going too. How about I come to yours with you and then I can walk home from there?" She suggested. She didn't really want to let on to the girl that she was coming with her because she'd been asked, it would probably just make her feel worse than she already did.

Eliza brightened up at Tori's offer, wiping away the last of her tears. Nobody had offered to do anything like that for her before! In fact, when she thought about it, most people dropped hints for her to leave. And practically begged her to to take her car with her. She had no idea why this might be. Similarly, she had no idea what Wright had talked to Tori about but certainly didn't ever fathom it may be related to her offer.
"L-like, really!?" She asked with a wide eyed smile. "Like, thankyouthankyouthankyou!" She beamed, complete with girlish jumping up and down. She trotted off to her car, giving Tori a huge grin as she went.
She climbed in, and started very slowly touching up her make-up in the vanity mirror, leaving Tori with nothing to do. "Like you could come in and we could like watch stuff! I have pokemon on DVD!" Eliza actually believed this was a selling point, which said quite a lot about her.
She eventually finished, methodically putting her make-up away. She got out and sprayed on some bright pink girly perfume before finally being ready to go. "This is gonna be so much fun!" She beamed, turning the key and being rewarded with only a splutter.
She tried again, but got nowhere. She looked a little sheepish, but kept trying. The car refused to start. After a few minutes of fighting her own car, even Eliza finally twigged that Tori might get fed up with waiting. "Um, like, can you try turning the key please?" She asked, trying not to look awkward. "It only does it to me!" She said as way of an explanation.

Tori gave Eliza a half-hearted grin. "Sure, it's no problem." She hoped she wasn't about to get hugged. She got the feeling a hug from Eliza would be like being jumped on by an over-excited puppy that smelt of perfume.
"Pokemon, huh?" She said cautiously, climbing in to the passenger's side of the car. "Great..." She was starting to wonder if captain Wright actually was punishing her. The thought was interrupted by a sudden assault of perfume on her nose. She managed to stop scowling and trying to brush the taste off her tongue a second before the other girl turned to her.
"Sure thing," she said, leaning over the redhead to turn the ignition key. She leaned back in her seat triumphantly as the car sputtered into life. "You sure you're good to drive?" She asked, buckling up her seatbelt.

Unfortunately, Eliza confirmed Tori's deep, dark fear when, in response to her starting the car, she jumped on the other woman with the full perfumed puppy hug that Tori had been so afraid of. "Aw, thanks!" She beamed, before letting go and returning to the driver's seat.
She grinned at Tori's question, and gave what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "Yeah, like, I'm fine!" She beamed. "Like, I don't think I'm more comfortable anywhere than in my car, right? Like, you can see why, right? Isn't it awesome!?" Sadly, she was entirely serious. From Eliza's worldpoint, her car represented everything she thought was good about life.
She began to head off, thanking her luck that the engine didn't cut out again once she put her hands on the steering wheel. It had been known to happen.
After a few moments, she turned to Tori with that concentrated frown that only somebody like Eliza could wear when they wanted to ask what they thought was a serious question. "So, um...like...why weren't you scared?" She asked, the burning curosity getting to her. It was playing on her mind. None of them had been frightened. She didn't understand it. She'd just wanted to cry. She wondered it was a special police thing, and if so, why she didn't have it.

Tori went rigid and her eyes widened on horror as Eliza jumped on her and hugged her. "No problem..." she managed. She took a deep breath as the other girl pulled away and started babbling about her car.
The question caught her off guard. "Uh..." she said, hesitating. She had to think about that one. "I don't know. I guess I just kind of... forgot to be scared." she added with a sheepish grin. It was the best way she could explain it - at the time she'd been too busy trying not to get eaten to worry about being scared. It probably had something to do with adrenaline.

Wright watched the pair go after listening to the struggling car. He couldn't help but bury his face in the palm of his hand. He couldn't help but think that if they could somehow weaponise Eliza's ability to break every single technical thing they touched, his job would be so much easier. Maybe he'd have to ask Hadrian about that...
Still, now was the time for sleep. He knew that the matress in his office was calling him, and he began to limp back to the police station, relishing the fact that everything was back to normal, and he was patrolling the streets of Edgehaven again, on foot, just like it was meant to be.

Eliza gave Tori a surprised glance at her explanation. "You like, forgot?" She asked, with a wide eyed shocked expression, and her eyes not on the road. She remembered just in time to look back and swerved out of the way of a parked car.
"Like, sometimes I forget my keys. Or, like, to turn the TV off. Or, like, I leave the oven on. Or the lights on. Or the door unlocked. Or the window open." Eliza paused. She was only about a quarter of the way down the list, but decided she'd better not go on.
"But like, forgetting to be scared? Aw. Why can't I do that?" She moaned as she pulled the car into a little parking space outside a block of flats.
"We're, like, here!" She beamed to Tori.

Eleri shrugged, vaguely satisfied with Wright's answer. Hell, she wasn't going to push the issue right now. Eventually, she'd pick up the issue of him sleeping on a mattress in the station, but not right now.
She rolled her eyes at Hadrian with a small grin and then hopped into the passenger seat of the van. She'd help Hadrian get the vampires into their cells and then head home herself, maybe stopping by the hospital to get her leg set properly. The adrenelin wearing off had allowed the ache in the broken limb to creep back into her conciousness and it wasn't pleasant.
She settled back in her seat with a sigh and closed her eyes. "Come on, let's get this lot sorted." she said wearily to Hadrian. "I want to go home."

Tori shrugged and gave another sheepish smile as Eliza stared at her. Then it registered that the redhead wasn't looking at the road and she braced herself for what was an almost inevitably crash, looking visabily relieved when the car swerved away just in time.
"You'll get it eventually," she said with no idea if it was true. She looked up at the block of flats they'd stopped outside. So this was where Eliza lived... she was glad to note that it wasn't too far from her own house - if she had it right, she was about ten minutes walk away from home.
"Awesome!" she said, returning the girls grin. "I'm not too far away, but I'd better get going." She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the car door before the other girl could envelope her in another hug.
((I was thinking maybe we leave it on Tori agreeing to go inside for a bit and skip to the next morning?))
