Hadrian buckled up, briefly considering calling out to Wright to ask if he wanted a lift but he guessed, after tonight, a little normality was what the man was looking for. He knew full well he could have caught a lift, he probably wanted the time to himself to sort his head out, regain some sense of security, afterall, how many times had he dragged himself back to the Yard in varying states of injury? Even before then he must have suffered a great deal of injuries before hand and still staggered on back to the old station on the Outskirts.
He decided to hold his tongue and drive Eleri back to her place, "I'll drop you off at yours before dealing with these guys. You should stay off that leg unless you want it to heal crooked," he warned as he started up the engine and did the usual checks before putting it in gear and peeling out onto the main road.

Eliza reached across to grab Tori's hand with a mixture of wide eyed terror at the thought of her leaving and an earnest smile at the invitation that was coming next.
"Like, you can't just go! You have to come in for tea! Ohh, or hot chocolate! I have hot chocolate!" Again, Eliza and sugar was a bad idea, but this was obviously her idea. You could tell Eliza only owned chocolate bars when it came to food.
"We can watch cartoons! And talk about boys! Like that guy you fancy from work!" She said it like she didn't know who Tori meant, and they hadn't seem him only five minutes ago, but then again, Eliza could get like that when gossiping.

Tori paused as Eliza grabbed her hand and rolled her eyes, knowing exactly what was coming next. She pasted a grin on her face as she turned back to the inside of the car. "Uh.. sure, ok." She said as cheerfully as she could. "Sounds like fun!"
Her smile became a bit more genuine when the redhead mentioned 'that guy from work'. There was no doubt about it - Tori had a bit of a crush on Hadrain. She'd have to find out if he was single or not, although she had a feeling he wouldn't be.
She closed her eyes and tried to prepare herself for the inside of Eliza's house - somehow, she was seeing a lot of pink.

The door to Wright's dim office creaked open, and he staggered inside, not even bothering to get the light. He knew where the matress was by now. He at least managed to strip off the police vest before collapsing towards it. He was asleep before he even hit it.
***
There was no alarm clock in the station to wake Wright up, and certainly no dawn chorus in the likes of Edgehaven to provide any kind of sound. Instead, Wright awoke with an instant, in built and entirely subconscious terror that told him if Eleri got to work and found him still asleep his life wouldn't be worth living. As such, his body clock woke him up without fail before seven every morning.
He got up and made his way to the small toilet that existed just outside of his office. It had a mirror. He observed himself in it, still in his clothes from yesterday, and spotted the blood on his shirt. Damn. He'd have to change.
With a clean shirt his only concession (he picked up and salvaged the vest), he set about shaving because nothing like stubble told Eleri he had slept in the station, and made his way down to the desk. He had some foggy recollection of ordering Myra to sort out some paperwork before the previous night's drama, and now knew someone would have to go through it. That's what he hired Eliza for, he thought happily, sitting down behind his desk. As for him, now all he had to do was deflect doing any actual work regarding what had happened last night and wait for the next report to roll in...

True to form, Eleri arrived at the station a few minutes before 8:00, freshly dressed and ready for the day. After she and Hadrian had dumped the feral vampires in to some cells, she had gone home, spent an hour in the bath and then collapsed in to bed.
When she'd woken up, her ribs had stopped hurting and her leg was well on its way to being healed - being half vampire had some perks at least - and she could walk without support. It had, however, taken several vicious assaults with a toothbrush and industrial-grade mouthwash to get the taste of blood out of her mouth.
She wasn't looking forward to the mound of paperwork she'd likely have to deal today- she guessed Myra wouldn't be around to help her - not to mention all the extra stuff she'd have to fill out for the new recruits....
A slow smile spread across her face at that thought. New recruits, of course! Everybody knew that the new girls got the worst jobs... Still smiling, she pushed the door of the station open and wandered casually up to Wright's desk, flicking on the kettle on her way past.
"Morning, sir." She said cheerily. She was glad to note that he had at least put a clean shirt on - the sight of a blood-spattered captain would have put a serious damper on her good mood.

Eliza Flowers also arrived early for work, bright, bubbly and far too cheerful for eight o'clock in the morning. It should be obvious, even after only a day of knowing her, she was hyper from a breakfast that consisted of far too much chocolate and marshmellow cereal.
She'd enjoyed the previous evening, and having somebody who didn't seem to immediately run out of her flat in horror had been a nice change for Eliza. But now she was back at work, ready for a fresh start, the memories of the previous evening already wiped by her constant cheerfulness.
"Like, hiya!'" She waved to both Eleri and Wright, grinning, still dressed in her ridiculous mini-skirt and heels along with her police uniform.

Wright was about to reply with his usual grunt of welcoming to Eleri when a mixture of clip-clopping heels and over-the-top cheerfulness announced the arrival of Eliza, who seemed to stand there, waving with a cheerfulness Wright couldn't quite believe for that early in the morning.
He looked, his expression kept carefully blank between Eleri and Eliza for a moment, his head turning from one to the other, keeping perfect silence.
"Training!" He suddenly spat out with a cheerful smile, happening across the perfect solution to the problem of having to put up with Eliza for any length of time. Okay, so there was the paperwork, but that could wait.
"Sergeant Mortymer. Please begin Lance Constable Flowers training today. Take her out in to the yard, begin the basic fitness training, that kind of thing." Wright could already see in Eleri's eyes that he was going to pay for this later...

The arrival of Eliza should have killed Eleri's buzz, but the idea of dumping a load of paperwork on her and being able to get Myra doing something productive again was far too enjoyable. "Morning, Lance Constable Flowers," she said with a smile.
She wandered across to the kettle and, in true Eleri style returned a few seconds later with three cups of tea balanced in her hands. She set them down on the desk, extracted her own and took a sip. She put it down again suspiciously when she caught Wright's expression - that blank look usually meant he was planning something.
Her suspicions were confirmed at the sudden cheerful announcment of 'training'. She refrained from giving Wright a Look, but she thought it at him. "Right you are, sir," she said, keeping her voice neutral. Instead, she rounded on Eliza.
"Right, basic training." She eyed the girl's outift. "First things first, sensible clothes. You can't do a damn thing in.... those." She added, gesturing at Eliza's shoes. "We should have a tracksuit and a pair of trainers that will fit you." Eleri knew they did - she'd ordered one of every size. After all, you never knew.

Eliza made a face when she sipped her tea. It didn't have the pre-required four spoonfuls of sugar in it to taste okay to her, but she didn't say anything for want of not wanting to seem rude in front of Eleri, who still scared her quite a lot.
She listened to Eleri's instructions doing her best not to look too frightened. Training. That meant, like, running, right? And exercise? She'd like, totally mess up her hair! She hated exercise. That's why she liked sitting at desks. Exercise seemed ungirly to her, somehow.
She glanced down at her shoes as Eleri gestured to them, but completely missed the point and looked back up to Eleri with wide puppy dog innocent eyes. "In what?" She asked, apparently with no idea at all as to how her shoes might hinder her. Eliza was one of those girls who thought the higher the heel the better.
She heard the tracksuits be mentioned, and let out a long whine. "Awwww. But I like my uniform! It's cuuuute!" She protested, modelling her miniskirt to show she thought so.

Eleri rolled her eyes. Oh yeah, this was going to be fun. "Those shoes." She clarified. "There's no way you can run in heels, you'll break your neck." She barely resisted closing her eyes and pretending it wasn't happening when Eliza started modelling her mini-skirt.
Instead, she disappeared up the stairs, instructing Eliza to "wait here," and emerged a few moments later with a navy t-shirt and a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms in one hand and a pair of white trainers in the other. "There, put that on." She said, shoving the outfit towards Eliza.
"And before you start arguing about how not-cute it is," she added, "think about which is less embarrasing - wearing that outfit or having the rest of the force see up your skirt when you fall over in those shoes." It was probably harsh, but the way Eleri figured it, it was probably the least painless way of getting Eliza to do as she was told.

Wright couldn't help but grin as Eleri took the upper hand with Eliza. It was pretty fun to watch, although Wright knew Eleri had her work cut out for her. The shoes were a fun starting point. He had to admit, Eliza kept her balance well given what she was wearing, and he couldn't work out if the shoes were the cause of the time she knocked things over or whether it was just because she was tragically clumsy anyway.
"Hey, if she insists on keeping the uniform on, just, take her somewhere else to train." Wright input, knowing exactly what he'd do, and how his methods differentiated from Eleri's own. When Eleri was looking in his direction, he mouthed the words 'cattle grid' at her with a grin, knowing that part of the Yard used to be used to keep cattle, back before it was converted hundreds of years ago, and that was one surface Eliza wasn't getting across no matter how well she balanced in heels.
He decided Eleri's method was probably less cruel...

Eliza was about to point out how totally not-cute the clothes she was handed were when Eleri ordered her not to and she fell silent, considering the point about the skirt.
"B-but I never fall over in my shoes!" Eliza protested whiningly. "Except sometimes. But then I fall over not in my shoes too. Or in other shoes. Or out of my seat when I'm sat down!" She still wasn't quite sure how she'd fallen out of her chair while typing the other day, but luckily nobody had seen it and she only regretted afterwards mentioning it.
Regardless, she obediently slinked away, and only returned when she was fully dressed, apparently practically dragging her feet without the to-her familiar heel to bounce off of. She'd managed to tie up her t-shirt looped through the neck to expose her mid-riff, because it was the 'cutest' way she could work out of wearing a t-shirt.
She gave Eleri a shy wave, indicating that she was ready.

Eleri listened to Eliza's whining with a pointed Look. She glanced at Wright as he spoke and barely stiffled a laugh at his silent suggestion. She had to admit, it would be quite funny to watch the redhead tottering across a cattlegrid in her heels, but definately cruel.
As Eliza slunk off to change, she sipped her tea again. "Well, thank you very much, sir." She said in a tone that made it clear he'd be paying for dumping her with Eliza. Then she gave a small laugh. "I don't suppose you've got a video camera handy? I expect Hadrain would want to see this."
She had finished her tea and was sorting through a box of CDs as Eliza re-entered. "Oh for the love of..." she sighed. Deciding it was the best she was going to get out of the girl, she stood up, grabbed a disc and led the way to the door. "Come on then, Lance Constable. I think we'll start with the basic bleep test."
Opening the door, she turned to Wright. "Are you sure you don't want to observe, Captain?" she asked with a grin.

Wright gave a shrug at Eleri's request for a video camera. While he had to admit, it would make some amusing (if disheartening) watching, technology was another planet to Wright, and one he had specifically hired Hadrian to deal with. "I'm sure he would, but the magic boxes are his department." He answered to her query, in that Wright was no more likely to own a video camera than a magic rocketship.
When Eliza returned Wright did his best to not look surprised, and left it to Eleri with a wry grin. When she offered if he'd like to watch, he simply dismissed her with a smile. "I'd love to, but I have to do this paperwork." It was an innocent phrase, but Wright choosing paperwork over something was the equilivant of 'I'd rather eat my own feet', and he knew Eleri knew this.

Eliza followed Eleri obediently, looking uncomfortable in her tracksuit bottoms and trainers. She pointed to the CD with an excited grin. "Ohhh! Are we gonna listen to music? What music do you like?" She asked, hoping to spark a gossipy conversation rather than have to go through with the training which she was pretty certain she wasn't going to like.
She looked from the Captain to Eleri and somehow the concept that this wasn't really the right question to be asking managed to pierce the pink fluffyness that was her brain, and she fell silent. "I-I, like, mean....'what's a bleep test'?" She asked obediently instead, hoping that question would get her in less trouble.
