Adrienne woke to the ringing of her mobile phone.she sighed softly and opened her eyes looking up at Austin a smile curving her lips.
"it always has to be the phone that wakes me up the most.."she muttered and flipped it open."hello?" her voice was quiet.
"Adrienne!what in the gods name happened here?!"she groaned softly she knew where Collan was.
"Collan please dont ask right now."
"Adrienne where are you? and where are Tanja and your mother?" her eyes turned a silver/gray,never a good sign when she was upset.she moved off of Austin gently and walked to her closet,getting a black button up shirt from it.
"meet me at the bar in twenty minutes Collan."
"no explain it Adrienne."
"when I am in the bar Collan.not now and not here."
"Adrienne."his voice sharpened as she knew it would.she finshed buttoning and adjusting the shirt."explain.Now." her hands were at the gun belt for her rifles and buckling it.
"find out for yourself.I have neither the will or patience to argue with you right now Collan Forester." she slipped on her duster and unbraided her hair letting it fall around her.
"Adrienne Hallos dont you take that tone with me."
"I'll take any tone I please with you.you asked.I answered.now get off the line before I hunt you down and find you myself."she said quietly,her voice holding anger and an emotion very close to pain.she brushed her hair out and looked at Austin then came to his side and kissed him softly."I love you.I wont be there long Austin.but you are welcome to come along with me if you wish love."she spoke softly as she pulled her hair back with a practiced hand and then took a pendant and the sigil ring,slipping it on her index finger.her father had sized it for her before he'd left.she looked at herself in the mirror and nodded slightly,satisfied for now.

Austin had watched from the bed, his head propped up on his hand. he returned her kiss and smiled
"I love you too, so much, and yes i will come with you"
he got up and stretched
"I have to go and see Azrael, I'll be back soon"

Adrienne smiled and nodded."I am going to go down to the resting room and get something to eat.I am slightly hungry.and also to go speak with the others and let them know I'm all right."she smiled and took out one of her rifles checking the loads and how many rounds were in the gun belt.she smiled again at Austin,and against her rising sense of danger.keeping it well hidden.

Adrienne kissed Austin back with all of her love.
"fifteen?I'd like to keep Collan guessing when I am going to appear."she smiled the smile not reflecting in her eyes at all.only a sense of a storm approaching.

he kissed her tenderly again and then walked out of the room, pausing at the door

Adrienne looked at him a geniune smile on her face then."I love you too.very much Austin.so very much."she took her rifle and holding it by the shoulder strap followed him from the room closing the door quietly behind her.she slung the rifle over her shoulder and walked towards the resting room.

A little while later:
Adrienne entered her room and set down her rifle and leather bag.she slipped out of her duster and laid it across the back of her chair.then got a clean pair of jeans and a white tank top out of her cloths chest.she then paused at her desk and pulled her fathers letter out of the drawer and opened it.
"Dear Adrienne.
I am on my way back to the city.your news of Tanja getting attacked worried me.has Collan been bothering you again?I gather he has from the tone of your last letter.is your mother alright?I'll be in the city sometime in the next two days from now Adrienne.if Tanja goes out of control do what you have to.take care of yourself and your mother.and say hello to Austin for me.
Your father.
Jack Hallos."
Adrienne's hands trembled as she let out a soft sob.she sank down onto her bed and began to cry harder as her fathers words echoed in her mind.the letter fell onto the floor as she walked into her bathroom and got in the shower.

Adrienne finished her shower quickly.drying off she attended to her ribs and the cut on her upper arm it had split when she was fighting with Collan.she replaced the bandage and then dried her hair letting it hang in soft waves down her back almost to her waistline.she looked at her reflection and her lip where it had been split by Tanja and shrugged.ignoring it.she drew on her cloths and then pulled her hair out of her face and into a slightly messy bun.she laughed at her reflection then pulled on her boots and stuck a dagger in the sheathes at the top of them.she then grabbed a soft over shirt in a darker red and made her way to the resting room...

Adrienne walked quietly into her room and closed the door behind her,her ribs were aching slightly and she felt dizzy.lack of eating anything today and stress.she sat down on the edge of her bed and took out her mobile as it rang.
"hello?"
"Hello Ara."her fathers voice came from the phone.
"Dad?when did you get in?"she groaned mentally
"two hours ago,Collan's here with me.he says you lost control of your temper."
"he hit me Da.I had every right to do what I did."she was beginning to feel slightly ill.
her vision was slightly unfocused now.she steadied herself against the bed.
"he says he didn't.Adrienne I'm worried about you.are you all right?"
"yeah Dad..I'm just great..listen I'll call you back later..I need to get some sleep."
"allright dear.take care.bye."he hung up and she sagged against the headboard of the bed."ugh...my head hurts and my father calls...gods...this isn't my day."she curled up on her side and then a few seconds later staggered to her bathroom and the sink.her headache building..she'd be all right when she stopped coughing she knew.she went back into her bedroom and dimmed the bedside light curling back up on her bed and trying to go to sleep.

Adrienne jerked out of the light doze she'd fallen into.she couldn't sleep..she got up out of her bed and slipped on her boots and walked quietly toher door and opened it softly,moving silently down the hall.

Aroura murmured softly in her sleep,her face was slightly flushed from the fever but she didn't show many other signs of not feeling well.she had known if she stayed out all night the other night in the rain that she would catch cold or worse.she knew even in sleep that she'd live through it.
