Kunoichi nodded, before strolling over to one of the hanging impact bags and squaring up to it.
She took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment before beginning a well practiced volley of punches and kicks, throwing in the occasional shadow step to a different position around the bag.

Damaris smiled. She watched Kunoichi for a while, admiring the woman's strength and speed, and her ability to shadow step - something Damaris doubted she would be able to do.
She suddenly thought of something else. "This is where you and I will have our training sessions with Austin, the commander." She said to Zin, trusting Cindy to translate.
She shrugged out of her coat and weapons, hanging them on hook on the wall behind her, and pulled her boots off to stand them beneath her coat. The gym always felt warm to Damaris, although she wasn't sure if it was just her or if it was warm.
Barefoot and wearing just her trousers and shirt, she strolled across the room and opened one of the equiptment cupboards. Pulling out two wooden training swords, she turned back towards the rest of the women.
"Anyone fancy a quick spar?" She asked casually.

Cindy gave Damaris a sceptical look when she asked. "Oh, I would, you know, but I have just done my nails." She answered with a smile, making sure her posh accent still managed to highlight her sarcasm. Regardless, she flashed her perfectly manicured nails to demonstrate to Damaris that it wasn't entirely a lie.
She knew of course that Damaris wasn't really speaking to her. Nobody ever expected Cindy to do anything in the gym, except during her training sessions, which went about as badly as you could expect.

'SPAR'
Zin's head snapped around so fast that anyone with enhanced hearing could have heard the crack her neck made - not that she noticed as her eyes practically lit up with excitement. The Gym was one thing but this? This was what she lived for. Though....
Dark eyes landed on the practice swords dubiously. She wasn't sure she wanted to test her mettle against one of those in this state. She was having difficulties running for goodness sake. Any attempt to fight an armed opponent was just going to be embarrassing. Her eyes flickered over to the pretty lady who was currently almost dancing around one of the punch bags - and tearing it apart with more skill than Zin had expected. Lethal skill.
No, no she definitely didn't want to embarrass herself in front of her. That would just.... no.
Zin turned away and pretended she hadn't understood the question as she tested one of the near-by punch bags with the palm of her hand, just pushing against it to test the weight and firmness. To her shock, it felt no more straining than pushing open a door, and like sinking her hand into a very firm mattress.

Zin's reaction to the word 'spar' didn't go unnoticed, at least not by Damaris. She smiled politely at Cindy. "Oh that's a shame. Another time, maybe?" She knew full well that getting Cindy to spar would be like teaching a horse to tango, but you never knew.
Instead, she watched as Zin tested a punchbag and nodded slightly to herself. The girl was just discovering the physical benefits of being a Lycan. Sometimes, just sometimes, the older woman thought the added strength and speed, not to mention the higher senses, made it all worth it.
"You'll be faster too." She said to Zin, holding one of the swords out to her. "Are you sure you wouldn't like to test it out?" She glanced at Cindy, silently asking her to translate.

Zin swallowed when she saw Damaris extend the practice sword towards her. She had never actually... used any for of weaponry. She chewed her lip before hesitantly taking it and testing its weight. Again, she felt absolutely no strain from what she was sure she would have at least felt before this strange bite.
She swung it hard and almost wrenched her arm as she miscalculated the force. Frowning and eyeing her shoulder she settled herself in a stance, legs spread steadily and her body turned to the side, blade out in front.

Damaris smiled and rased her own blade. "Like this," she told Zin, demonstrating a few basic moves slowly. She waited until she thought Zin had grasped enough and then set herself into a blocking stance. "Try and hit me." She said, smiling encouragingly.

Watching the older woman carefully she slowly went through the basic moves once, twice and then sped up for the third one before nodding.
'hit' was a familiar word and without much fanfare, she struck, using the simple thrusting technique she had been shown rather than an overhead swing that would leave her ribs and back exposed during the anticipation.

Damaris dodged sideways, narrowly missing Zin's strike. "Very good," she said encouragingly to the girl. She took note of the way she struck - forwards rather than overhead. Zin was a natural. "Try again."

She bounced a little in place, her weight set on her back foot as her front one lifted once or twice as she fought the near instinctive urge to follow up with a kick. Never the less she clenched the fist of her free hand and lunged in again, this time using her wrist and elbow to angle the blade in a downward stroke that still made certain she left herself guarded and capable of blocking or evading.

Having entered the HQ with Austin, Azrael decided it was prudent to advise the others of the half-demon. The place seemed empty at first, but then he heard sounds that told him that everyone was in the gym.
When Azrael entered, he realised that they were in the middle of a session. He decided to wait against the door and watch.

Damaris wasn't so lucky this time around. She heard Azrael enter the room and, although she didn't look around, the sound distracted her just enough that she didn't move in time. Zin's blow landed on her upper arm.
"Very good!" She said, rubbing the spot above her elbow.

Kunoichi paused to watch, examining Zin's form carefully.

The blow landing distracted her briefly from the sudden appearance of the stern-faced man from earlier, her face snapping over to the doorway. She hesitated briefly, as if expecting him to scold them for being in the Gym but the women didn't seem put off by his presence so.... they must have been allowed.
Turning away from him, she took a step forward and swept her blade upward. Working with weapons felt clumsy and awkward, she was too used to her fists and the itch to follow up her forward strikes with more powerful kicks was proving difficult to ignore. Even a low kick to the knee would be too fast for a counter attack to land and would prove to cripple someone who had not expected it. But clearly they were trying to teach her something, and well... every child waved around wooden swords and pretended to be pirates, irrespective of gender. Didn't they?

Even though Azrael had not seen much of their sparring, he was impressed that Zin had managed to land a blow on Damaris. Not an easy feat for the average lycan, even if Damaris went easy on them.
Azrael started paying attention to detail; now a lot more curious of the young lycan's ability.
