[adrienne]

Adrienne's eyes widened at Cindy's sentence and she quickly aimed for the kneecaps of the demon, firing off a quick shot she swore, she'd missed. She fired again, hitting the kneecap and eliciting a pained shriek from the demon before she fired at the other kneecap, the blessed bullet going straight through.
"Thank you!" She called to Cindy.

[Kunoichi]

Carla's momentary lapse of concentration had allowed Kunoichi to regain her senses. As Carla fired the blast, she backflipped and shadow stepped into cover, hoping the blast of energy would cover her momentary escape and allow her to make a surprise attack.

[Rino]

Rino took the kick without much fuss. It didn't hurt him much, but it did give a chance for Austin to come on the offensive. Not that it mattered. His weapon couldn't harm Rino. So far, it was all dramatics.

"Well, you're trying, that's the important thing." Rino said sympathetically, as if talking to a small child. Who wasn't very good at what he was doing.

"I just wanted you to die being able to say you had a Last Stand, that's all." He added, with the same patronising tone. "You were a worthy enemy for a century or two, Austin, but that time's passed now. I've won. The portal's open and it's over. Now all that's left is for you to go out with style..."

Under the immense pressure of the portal, and with the demons now teeming over it, the Devil's Advocates building began to buckle.

"I thought a duel on the top of a collapsing sky scraper would be appropriate." Rino smirked. "I added charges to help with the collapsing bit." He added helpfully.

[Carla Glenn]

Carla cursed herself for letting Kunoichi escape, and had to admit, she couldn't see where she had gone. She could light up the dark spots with her powers, but it'd take energy, and if she missed, it'd give Kunoichi the perfect opening...

"Come on out!" Carla snapped. "I never learnt this karate stuff and I can't kick in these heels..." She moaned. It was true. When you could fire electricity out of your fingertips, you could afford to dress 'sexy' over 'practical'. Hence all the leather...

"So get out here and let's go back to what we were doing! I was enjoying watching you fry!"

[Austin]

Austin used this opportunity to push Rino's sword aside, following with another kick and then another slash of his sword
"you will not win"
he growled under his breath

[Cindy Harker]

Cindy tried to reply to Adrienne, but got too frightened by the constant fighting, and simply settled on whimpering in her hiding place.

Some research part of her deep down was fascinated. Nobody had seen this many demons in combat like this since the war, and the amount that could be learnt about their powers, and their-

Oh, hang on, now parts of the roof were on fire. That researcher part of her vanished beneath the much larger, much more significant part of her that was very very scared.

[Kunoichi]

From a short distance, Kunoichi watched and waited for her opportunity - she'd made sure she was insulated in her hiding place and she had a prop - a distraction.

Once the moment came, she threw a tin can behind and to the side of Carla, away from the side that she was currently hiding.

[Rino]

Rino didn't bother blocking this slash. He let it cut into him, just to remind Austin that he was indeed invincible, and that it wouldn't scratch him.

"Oh, Austin, you never were very bright..." Rino laughed to himself, looking at the tear in his flesh with mild disinterest. "I already have!"

He turned his back on Austin, purely because he could.

"Look around you! This isn't a war! This isn't a battle! This is a victory! My victory!" He span around, sword cutting high, aimed directly for Austin's neckline...

[Carla Glenn]

Carla, to her credit, reacted fast. And with good accuracy too. She blasted the tin perfectly, as soon as it hit the ground.

Unfortunately, she realised as soon as the bolt hit, thanks to the sound of fried tin, that she'd fallen for a trick.

Even worse, she knew there was no way she could turn around in time to stop the inevitable counter-attack.

"Oh crap." Is all she managed, twirling desperately to spot the incoming ninja...

[Austin]

Austin ducked the swipe but only just - the blade coming within centimetres of his skin - before trying to come back with a swipe of his own, it was blocked and they stood again, their swords locked together
"We'll see about that"

[Rino]

Rino pushed away from the sword, and they exchanged several more rapid blows, clanging metal ringing out across the rooftop.
"Wow, it's actually kind of sad." Rino remarked with a slight laugh.

"Here we are, world burning around us, and you're clinging to some feeble hope you might actually win?" Rino managed to make it sound like the most absurd thing that had ever happened.

"At least die with some dignity and know to admit when you've lost!" Rino puncuated his last word with a powerful swing at Austin.

[Kunoichi]

Kunoichi grinned and set off almost as soon as the can had landed, shadow stepping from side to side before launching a flying kick at Carla

[Carla Glenn]

Carla took the kick and found herself sprawling across the ground. She got to her feet quickly, adrenaline preventing her from realising (yet) just how much that hurt, and in her anger threw a punch at Kunoichi.

Unfortunately, Carla wasn't much of a hand to hand fighter. It didn't come up with her powers. So the punch wasn't very good. In fact, most people would probably of called it 'girlie', and maybe used the word 'slap-like thing' rather than 'punch'. The grunt she gave along with it didn't help matters.

However, she had the added advantage that any hit that connected would fry the opponent too. After all, she only had to hit them, so she didn't exactly have to hit hard.

Plus, with Cindy on the same battlefield, it was difficult to call anything anybody else did 'girlie'...

[Austin]

Austin managed to parry Rino's incoming blow and stepped through kicking the back of Rino's legs and using his own momentum to throw the Demon from his feet
"Family trait"
Austin growled, taking a step back

[Kunoichi]

Kunoichi stepped aside from Carla's punch, allowing it to pass her harmlessly before catching the wrist and throwing her own gloved fist out in a considerably less girly punch, aimed at Carla's head.
