In all the confusion, Carla had just stood frozen. She couldn't quite understand what had happened. And she certainly couldn't believe it.
Rino was dead?
But. That wasn't supposed to happen! It was impossible! Rino was the one thing in her whole life she could rely on. The one thing that would be dependable and exist forever.
In her heart, she'd known the apocalypse might not happen. Things like often didn't. In fact, the world wasn't destroyed practically every day! A goal you've worked towards all your life never really feels like it'll actually happen. But she knew Rino would survive, and be there for the next attempt.
Or at least, she thought she'd knew.
She didn't feel rage or anger or hatred. She didn't feel a whole ot at first, apart from the shock. And then something else happened.
She was terrified.
She turned and ran as fast as she could, with no idea where to go, what to do, or why she was doing it. All she knew was her entire world had just changed. And it was as scary as hell.

Adrienne looked at Austin's face as she finished bandaging his wound up, gently stroking his hair back from his face. "It's done." She said softly, referring to the bandaging of his wound, her face very pale as she handed him two painkillers. " Take those, they'll wear off sooner than they would with me but it'll help for long enough till we can get back to the HQ. I'll be right back." She said calmly, giving Austin another tender kiss on the lips. She stood and walked shakily to where her duster and medkit were then to where her sword was. "Cindy, are you able to walk?" She asked softly, coming to the woman's side and kneeling down by her.

Cindy nodded, managing to move. "I-I think I'm fine." She explained, still accepting graciously help from Adrienne. After all, people like Cindy didn't usually trip up, and certainly didn't usually stand up again without someone to help them.
"I only fell." She admitted, a little embaressed. "P-perhaps we should be helping the others..."

Kunoichi struggled to her feet, Carla was nowhere to be seen the cocky part of her personality wanted to yell 'yeah, you'd better run!' but she decided against it. "next time Carla, next time" she murmured, walking somewhat unsteadily towards the group, her catsuit still smoking slightly.

Austin got cautiously to his feet, he could already feel the wound healing but it still hurt thank the gods that sword wasn't silvered... he walked slowly over the Alucard and offered him a hand up "Nice job there Pyro, good throwing arm you have"

"Is is over?" Jaden asked as he pushed himself off the wall his body screaming in agony. I need a holiday. He said to himself slowly making his way over to Alucard.
"Nice shooting boy." Jaden said taking his guns back. "Couldn't have done better myself, sure you don't want to trade your rifle in for a couple of these?" He joked.
"Orders Commander?" he asked Austin

Alucard stumbled up onto his feet and brushed himself off. He didn’t say anything, but the look on his face said it all. That was too much. I need a drink!

"Time to head back to the HQ - I'd say we're all due some time off" Austin replied to Jaden, standing up straighter now that the wound was starting to heal I'm getting too old for this shit...

"I second that notion." Adrienne said, moving her hair back from her face then walking to Austin's side and resting her head against his uninjured shoulder tiredly. "I owe you a drink." She said quietly to Austin, putting an arm around his waist gently. And a lot more than just that one drink. She thought.

He smiled and led the circle towards the roof door, his arm still around Ara I hope Az is okay...

"Can we maybe skip the HQ and just go straight to the part with the luxury jacuzzis and expensive champaigne?" Cindy asked hopefully, before realising that was probably only her lifestyle and nobody elses.
"...Well, I don't care." She stated snobbily at this revelation. "We just saved the world and we should get to relax how we want!" She explained as she headed through the door and down the stairs, back towards their HQ, and thankfully, home.

A few minutes later they are outside the building and heading towards their van ah it's good to be outside again... it felt like we were there for years...

Jaden followed Austin outside. He was tired, more than that he was exhausted. He let out a long sigh. This isn't what he imagined doing with his life twenty years ago. He put the thought from his mind and headed towards the van.

Adrienne smiled slightly up at Austin as she headed towards the van, one arm still around his waist. "Champagne I can live without, hot jacuzzis on the other hand? Count me in." She murmured, tiredly rubbing a hand against her forehead. "I hope Az made it out okay." She said softly.

Austin smiled slightly, kissing the side of Ara's head, secretly dreading the inevitable phonecall from the hospital because of what they might say.
He remotely unlocked the van and gripped the door handle "all aboard"
