"Mmm... I'm not suprised." Replied Anake dryly. She walked over to the door, her sensible shoes clicking on the floor, and opened the door.
"Well, this way." she said, leading the way down the corridor briskly.

Eleri suppressed a smile at the thought of Wright in a wheelchair - she had images of him racing down corridors at top speed, running over staff and possibly challenging other patients to a race. She laughed softly, turned it into a cough and bit her lip sheepishly.
As Wright stood up, she side-stepped to help him and offered her arm as a support. There was no way he was going to walk very far on his own and Eleri know it. She suspected Anake did too - she recognized the tactic. It was one of her own, learnt from her grandmother.
She shuddered at the feeling that she might have found in Anake a glimpse of her future self . Scary.

Wright gave just enough of a struggle to have to accept Eleri's help while looking like he'd be fine on his own. It was a tactic he's learn from, well, himself. He figured if he had to be helped somewhere, he might as well look like he'd be fine on his own, even if he wasn't.
"X-Rays huh?" Wright said thoughtfully. "Any chance they'll give me superpowers? Always happens in the movies..."
He looked to Anake and had a very similar insight as Eleri. 'FutureEleri' she became nicknamed in his head, and it settled.
Wright laughed to himself.
((I now offically work in a hospital by the way. I'm yet to meet an Anake though. Thank god.))

Hadrian rolled his eyes somewhat at the antics of the so called 'adults' around him.
Though..... A wheelchair race did sound like fun.

((XD Congrats. There has to be at least one Anake there though, it's just a matter of time )) Anake opened a door at the far end of the corridor and strode in, ignoring Wright's comment and not bothering to wait for the trio to catch up. She spoke with the X-Ray technician and explained what needed to be looked at. The technician nodded and busied himself setting the equipment up. Anake stood infront of the protective screen and waited for Wright.

Wright shuffled in front of the screen, and patted himself down. "Is this the bit where I remove my clothes?" He asked with a slight smirk. He was actually pretty certain there was quite a lot of metal lodged into his body anyway, from various attacks over the years, so his x-ray would probably look more like a scrapyard than anything useful anyway, but still.
"You do promise not to make me radioactive, right?"

Hadrian grinned, "If you did, you'd get cool superpowers." He pointed out, Captain Wright with super powers that was pretty damn coo- wait a sec, Captain Wright with superpowers? Oh dear.
'We're doomed.' he mentally declared.

Eleri rolled her eyes and let go of Wright now that they'd stoppd moving.
"Sir, I doubt there's enough radiation to make you a superhero. " She said wearily. "And I doubt Nurse Kavanagh wants you to strip off for a leg x-ray either." She shook her head and sighed. Men...

Anake nodded. "Quite right." She said to Eleri. Addressing Wright, she continued "Just roll up your trouser leg and lie down on the table."
She disappeared behind the protective screen and signalled for Eleri and Hadrian to join her. Usually they'd have been made to wait in the hall but the fact that they were police made enough of a difference for Anake to allow them to stay. She knew the Edgehaven police weren't particularly useful any more, but if she didn't respect those who were meant to uphold the law, who would?
She nodded to the X-Ray tech, who fetched a lead shield and went to make sure Wright was properly prepped for the X-Ray.

Hadrian peered at the equipment curiously, facinated about how it all worked, he knew what it did but the way it worked and how he could possibly adapt it to other things made him antsy. He wanted to disassemble it and figure out how it all worked but refrained, just in case, he stuffed his hands in his pockets so they wouldn't go anywhere near it.

Wright looked to the gathered crowd, and began to sound a little nervous. "Urr, if this thing doesn't give off enough radiation to do anything....why are you lot hiding over there?" He asked, shifting uncomfortably on the table.
Wright wasn't at home around technology. It glowed and did funny stuff and anything with 'X' in the title was usually not good.
Plus, he didn't trust nurses.

Anake gave Hadrian a quick disapproving look, as though she knew what he was thinking.
"Beacause, captain, it's procedure. That's all you need to know." she replied shortly. The technician reappeared on their side of the screen, checked that everything was ready and called to Wright.
"Stay as still as possible please Mr Wright, this won't take long."
Satisfied that everything was ok, the tech started taking x-rays of Wright's busted leg.
After a few minutes, he switched off the machines and went to remove the lead sheild.
"All done." He told Wright with a smile. "Nurse Kavanagh will, I'm sure, escort you back to the exam room and I'll be there shortly with your X-rays."
He gave Wright another quick smile, nodded to Anake and then disappeared into an ajoining room.
"Well then, captain, that wasn't too bad was it?" Anake said in her best Nurse voice. She made a point of using it with difficult patients.
"Follow me, please." She called to the trio as she left the room.

Hadrian couldn't help but grin and shake his head as he trailed behind the older woman, she used the 'Nurse/Doctor' voice his twin used whenever he'd some something stupid with his experiments and ended up hurting himself. She did volantary work at the hospital, she probably got it from Miss Kavanagh, it would explain a lot.

Wright got up, experimently tried to shoot lightning out of his hands (thanks to his belief he'd now have superpowers), discovered he couldn't, and walked behind the others silently.
He didn't want really to give Anake any more right to act like he was being difficult, because by doing that, he figured he be even more difficult. He thought about being really kind and conscience for a bit, but decided it was too much effort, and went back to trying to fire lightning out of his finger tips.

Eleri followed Anake and Hadrian out of the room, stopped when she realised Wright was behind them and turned around. She offered Wright her arm as a support and smiled.
"I don't think you've developed superpowers, sir." she said with a grin. "Probably a good thing too."
