((/scoots in. /with jazzhands. If anything doesn't work, let me know and I'll edit.))
Today, Myra was playing coffee fairy. It had been difficult to miss some of what had happened yesterday - police radio shared a frequency, so while she didn't have a full picture of events, she knew enough to say with startling certainty that things hadn't gone well. Or as well as had been hoped.
So, rather than just her bag, she also carried a cardboard carrier of drinks, and a fifth one in her hand. Coffee and tea were all very good if you were on the job and could rely on instant, but sometimes you just needed a brand name coffee. And if anyone didn't want theirs, well... more for her.
Butting open the door with her hip, she stopped off to wordlessly dump an Americano with Nolan, before heading to her desk and setting down the carrier and extra carry-out cup on the wooden surface. She shrugged off her coat, and hung it over the back of her chair before selecting one of the cups and circling her desk, headed towards Hadrian's.
She set the cup down in front of him.
"White chocolate mocha."
She didn't really need to say anything else.

If it were humanly possible to obtain lovehearts within one's eyes - Hadrian would have been currently blind with the large organs impairing his vision from the glory of coffee!! White chocolate Mocha coffee!! the sweet, if somewhat girlie, drink his sister had gotten him hooked on the last time they were in France for her eighteenth birthday.
"I do believe I adore you Miss Everett," he told her reverently, "Would it be terribly inappropriate to get down on one knee at this point in time?" he asked, craning his head back and smiling puppy-ishly up at her, had she been a few inches closer he probably would have nuzzled his head against her stomach like an affectionate cat. Alas, she was too far, and his testicles would be in a great deal of pain if he dared to put his face that close to her breasts. Worth it though.

Wright was always suspicious when somebody bought him something with real money, because he usually expected either they'd done something wrong or he'd done something wrong and they were trying to guilt trip it out of him. In this case however, he put it down the events of the previous day that Myra had missed out on.
He gulped down the scalding coffee, black enough to remove paint from the walls (possibly even the walls from the paint), and was greatful to be pulled further into soberity after the crazyness that tended to follow remembering he had to deal with such day to day issues as vampiric possession.
"I believe you have a basement, Corporal Beaumont." Was all he said at the signs of affection coming from the two. Why couldn't they go through life simply hating everybody and everything like any normal person, Wright thought to himself. "Please restrain any signs of affection, loving or otherwise, to it. Thanks." He added in his best business like tone, which wasn't particularly good, since Wright was only good at sounding like he was in charge usually when he was screaming out great advice on actively not-dying, rather than actually attempting to play the role of 'dickish boss', even if it was just for laughs.

Myra quirked an eyebrow at Hadrian, before reaching forward and flicking him gently between the eyes,
"I'm not sure how that would be productive to your work. And Wright would certainly disapprove."
As if on cue, Wright piped up from his corner of the office, and Myra found herself turning to look at him out of the corner of her eye. Both eyes soon crinkled slightly in amusement at the sight of Wright already enjoying his cup of bitter black coffee, and she spun on her heel to return to her desk.
"I bought tea for Eleri - mint tea, or normal. I wasn't sure which she would prefer. Is she out back?"

Hadrian gave the Captain large, soulful eyes, "Are you feeling lonely Captain? Do you need a hug?" he asked playfully, a little bit of light hearted teasing was alright where the little ones couldn't hear. Though given how both he and Eleri were treating him the night before they might not give the unprofessional behaviour much more than a bewildered blink.
"Yeah, she's in the training yard with the newbies," he explained, sipping at his mocha with relish. Oooh, just the right temperature as well! With whipped creme!! Myra was so getting a big squishy hug when he could be bothered to peel himself away from this desk.

"Normal." Wright answered, not exactly sure why he knew that, or whether he was right, but deciding it was better to pretend he was. Besides, he had a 50/50 chance, right? He'd just have to be lucky.
"Yeah, she's out back with the new recruuuuuuuuuuu- um..." Oh right. He hadn't told Myra yet. He paused for a moment, and attempted to straighten himself up so he actually looked captainy. It didn't really work. "Yes. We, um, all, together, decided to recruit some new recruits. Certainly wasn't an unexpected surprise or anything. They're both really compitant though. Nothing to worry about there. Just doing some...basic training, out back."
"You know what? Maybe I should take that tea out..." He added, realising that Myra was about to get completely unprepared exposure to whatever disaster training Eliza had turned in to.

Myra blinked, eyes staring at Wright, then at Hadrian, and then back to Wright.
"... We hired new recruits?"
She tilted her head thoughtfully at the cups of tea, before shrugging. It would be awkward for her to just walk out into whatever was happening out in the training area, and until she could enjoy a drink of her own and be introduction with as formal an introduction as Edgehaven PD could manage she had no desire to go and be too social. She would see Eleri around later in the day anyway.
"... if you want." She picked up the carry carton and headed over to Wright's desk, placing it on the wooden surface.

Hadrian stifled a snicker in his drink, that was really rather smooth, not, but he wasn't going to say anything, it was better if Myra saw for herself. And it would be hilarious watching the Captain attempt to maintain his dignity in the face of her disapproval.
He tried not to think about the small fact that he and the Captain were now out-numbered as the only Policemen in the current operation - given that Nolan tended to remain in the office and only head out when it was desperately needed, he was no spring chicken afterall.

Wright scooped up the tea, and quickly made his way towards the back yard. "Yeah, I'll be right back, just a moment..." Okay, so his plan to avoid having Myra see what the hell was going on meant that he had to.
He walked out into the courtyard, where Eliza was in a heap on a seat, looking like she'd run a million miles. Wright guessed it was about a foot. Eleri was doing her best, it seemed, to motivate her, and Tori looked like she was regretting having walked into whatever she'd just walked into. Wright spotted the safety of a small barrel nearby (he never found out what they were there for, come to think of it), set the tea down, and disappeared back into the office. They were coppers right? He was sure they could find tea in a yard.
"All done. They're fine!" He smiled cheerfully, returning to his desk and hoping he radiated an aura that said 'and don't ask'.

No one had ever said that Wright was subtle. Here was a classic example.
The questioning look she shot at Hadrian went fairly unanswered, either due to the man's current love affair with his white chocolate drink or due to some shared understanding with their boss about whatever was lurking in the training area and calling themselves recruits. A part of her wants to ask a few questions about her new co-workers, but Wright's oh-so smooth return cuts her off before she can speak. Instead, Myra brushed imaginary dust from the skirt of her uniform and sat herself down at her desk. It was then she noticed something that was very out of place.
Her paperwork draw looked manageable. It wasn't overflowing. It was a normal, reasonable amount of papers that practically set off alarm bells in her head.
"Where did the paperwork go?"

Hadrian sipped at his drink, contemplating on how to answer. Paperwork was never a fond substance for anyone in the office but upon her arrival it pretty much became Myra's 'thing' as Eleri spent so much time running the place and he spent a lot of time working in the basement while Wright lurked outside on the Beat. He wondered if she would be upset about the sudden 'space invasion' of her paperwork. People tended to get possessive over silly things, even the ones they hate.
Case in fact, he hated Oscar the cat but the last time he was on his way back to the house he saw a Were trying to take a chunk out of the foul cat and gave the mangy canine a harsh boot up the ass, making it shoot off with a shrieking howl down the street as he coaxed his foul tempered cat out from under the dumpster. If anyone was abusing the cat, it was going to be him. Only he was allowed.

"Hired a typist." Wright leapt on the opportunity to make his recruitment choices sound compitant and well informed, knowing that otherwise he'd have to explain just why he'd chosen to hire Eliza. At least Tori was understandable (if questionable, given Wright hated guns).
"She'd cleared most of it in a day! Check it out!" He waved his arm around the empty desk. "I didn't even have to move anything to put my feet up!" This was, for Wright, a first.
"So I don't know why you're all thinking I'd hired somebody I shouldn't have or something." They hadn't said anything like that, and him saying it should have been a dead give away. "See? They're doing a great job!"

"........"
The missing paperwork wasn't exactly an issue. It had been therapeutic and something to focus herself on, which was more of what she was considering she might have lost from this. Myra drummed her fingers on the table for a moment, then picked up her own cup of drink and took a sip.
"I am aware you aren't being very forthcoming with information on these new recruits. So far I know one is a typist. Apparently a good one. That is all."
It's mostly just her noting this oddity than calling Wright out on anything. She would form her own opinions of the recruits when she met them.
"Although if we are to expand the station, all and any recruits are a positive thing."
Even if Wright's insistence to avoid discussing them is setting alarm bells off in her mind.

Hadrian chuckled, "That would be Lance Constable Eliza Flowers, rather 'Valley Girl'-ish, think Barbie girl, not much good in a combat situation but she knows enough to go for the weak spots if the way she popped that Vamp's knee out last night was any indication. Bit more Field Training and some toughening up and she'll do pretty well. She's pretty much the office bitch at the moment though, if you'll pardon the expression. Over a hundred words per minute on the typing front, you can tell Wright adores the paperwork freedom already," the brunet explained with a chuckle as he sipped his drink, reporting the important details to his colleague.
"Constable Tori Kane, American, likes guns, pretty damn good with them and she appreciates the shiny toys," he pointed out with a broad boyish grin, anyone who liked his toys was awesome in his mind, "A lot more common sense than Lance Constable Flowers, more physically capable from what I've seen, lacking field experience and the general structure of the Department but its nothing major or crippling. You two would get along like a house on fire, she's very practical from what I've seen."

God bless Hadrian Beaumont, Wright thought. He'd managed to make it sound far better than Wright knew he would have himself. Actually, when Hadrian put it like that, they didn't sound so bad.
"Yes, and now I can get my senior officers where I need them, instead of doing paperwork. Just, don't mention anything pink to her..." He explained, hoping his sell on senior officers would make them feel important enough to skip over any further defects in Eliza's attitude.
"As for the other one, I'm not too sure how she'll take it when I tell her guns aren't actually standard equiment for patrol, but she seems pretty enthusiastic, so we're on course there." He added, although in retrospect, his 'defence' did more damage than Hadrian's explanation, and he should have probably just kept quiet.
