"Nothing wrong with knowing how to use a gun... so long as she doesn't use one when it's not required."
Myra rested her chin on her hand with a small smile,
"They sound rather unique individuals. Then again, we seem to enjoy picking those up." She stretched slightly, and sipped her drink again, "So, more time for sorting out police calls and less time trying to work through current and back logged paper work. It's a good plan."
Something about 'Eliza' made her feel a little... nervous? The words 'valley-girl' and 'pink' were a rather lethal sounding combination, but she'd already told herself she would form opinions herself when she met them.

Eleri nodded. "Don't push yourself too hard, remember. If you feel like you need a rest, take a rest. The point is to find out how much you can do and work from there, not to kill you. That's Dawn's job." She added ruefully.
She caught some movement out of the corner of her eye and turned her head in time to see Wright disappear back through the door and a cup from an expensive coffee place on a nearby barrel. She walked over to pick the cup up and sniffed it suspiciously. An experimental sip confirmed that it was tea, as opposed to the ridiculous sugary concoctions that Hadrian seemed to prefer. Ah, Myra's back she thought with a smile. Carrying the tea back, she sat beside Eliza, wondering how Myra would take to the girl. Probably better than the rest of them, considering paperwork seemed to be one of the few things Eliza could do properly and without too many complaints.
As soon as Tori rejoined them, she stood up again and turned to Eliza. "Come on, Lance-Constable. Pull yourself together now." She motioned for Tori to join them. "I think we'll start with some basic muscle stretches, followed by two laps around the yard. Two slow laps." She added pointedly, looking at Eliza.

Tori arrived back in the yard, dressed in the same tracksuit as Eliza, ready to go. She wasn't sure about the 'training with Eliza' part, but if nothing else, Eliza's apparent lack of ability would make her look all the better. She brushed that thought aside - it wasn't Eliza's fault she was, well, Eliza. Being mean to her would be like being mean to a puppy that drooled on your favourite shoes by accident.
She made her way over to the other two women at Eleri's signal. She wondered briefly where the Sergeant had gotten the coffee-cup. She had heard another woman's voice on her way back, although the route she'd taken hadn't led her through the main room of the station so she hadn't seen Myra or her tray of coffee.
She listened respectfully to Eleri's instructions and then moved closer to Eliza. Truth be told, the older woman scared her more than a little. Without being told, she started doing some of the warm-up stretches and exercises she had learnt at kick-boxing.
"Hi," she whispered to Eliza, conscious that she hadn't greeted the girl yet. Then, partly for something else to say and partly because she didn't know what it was, she added, "Uh... what's a bleep test?"

Eliza had managed to stagger to her feet on Eleri's orders to 'pull herself together', although she was still panting and looking pretty tired. She wasn't sure how 'don't push yourself too hard' meant getting up before she was ready, but also was aware she'd probably be sat down until doomsday if she was allowed to be.
"Like, they're really hard!" Eliza answered, apparently misinterpreting Tori's question. She did, however, then break into a smile. "Hiya!" She was happy to see her friend. She didn't have many. Or any, to be more accurate. And the fact that Tori was being friendly to her made her happy.
"I don't wanna stretch anything. Just 'cause I don't like these clothes, doesn't mean I, like, wanna see 'em get ruined by being all stretched..." Apparently, Eliza was unaware you could also stretch muscles...

"Everyone is unique, they're just a little more unique than most. Then again, aren't we just the same?" Hadrian asked, smiling cheerfully as he sipped his mocha.

"Muscles, Eliza. Stretching your muscles. Legs, arms, back..." She was going to have Words with Wright about this. At least Tori was doing better, although, she considered, a statue would probably do better than Eliza at the moment.
"Watch Constable Kane," she told the redhead. "She's got the right idea." She sipped her tea again and made a mental note to hug Myra next time she brought expensive drinks.

Myra sipped her drink again,
"You can't be the same and unique at the same time Hadrian."
She turned her attention to Wright, setting her cup down and leaning her chin on her hands.
"So, Eleri is out training the new recruits?"

Hadrian pouted at her (maybe he was just special enough to be both?), but fell quiet. Sometimes she took things a little too logically and literally, though that made it fun to terrorise her at times - not that he ever managed to or really ever would terrorise her, just a little bit of teasing.
He turned his attention back to the computer, finishing off his mocha as he decided to knuckle down before... "Are we going to have to do Basic Training?" he suddenly asked, the thought abruptly beaning him between the eyes like one of his older sister's rubber-band attacks. "Better yet, is the EHPD officially back in the books?" Given that the police department was massacred it was widely considered the end of the whole thing, the EHPD no longer existed to Her Majesty's Law Enforcement. Were they back and legally recognised as a station in this area? If they were, that meant they would be getting inspections, budget padding, there would be meetings and conferences and transfers and overseeing and, oh good god, he wasn't sure if getting recognised was a good thing or a bad one considering that this was Edgehaven and the official Rule book not only got thrown out of the window but it got torn apart by lycans, pissed on my Vampires and kicked down the street like so much gutter trash by the Assassins Guild and just about anything and anyone else who didn't give a flying crap about the Law.
They had a Law Firm run by Demons attempting to open the Gates of Hell!!!!
His face turned ashen white as he imagined this and promptly thumped his head down on his keyboard with a theatrical groan.

"Yeah, well, someone's gotta do it, and she's got that whole vampiric-super-resiliance thing going for her." Wright answered Myra, although they both knew that was only physical and not emotional. It really wouldn't really help her deal with having to put up with the two newbies, but it was a good excuse for Wright not to do it.
He raised an eyebrow at Hadrian's point. He'd never really considered that the EHPD might be unofficial in truth, given that to his own moral code it was vitally important that something seperated his actions from those he was trying to stop. He couldn't use the badge to enforce the law if the law didn't recognise him. "That would explain the letter I got addressed to 'Chief Inspector Wright'." He commented dryly, which in retrospect he knew he hadn't read yet. He guessed that back in London they struggled with Edgehaven's version of the rule book.
The one that had been torn up and thrown out a window.

"Ohhh, like, why didn't you say so?" Eliza chirped as Eleri explained what she meant. She didn't have a clue, of course, but didn't want to look stupid, so decided to pretend it was obvious. Eliza, despite everything, actually believed she did a pretty good job at pulling that off.
She started mechanically copying Tori, although the other woman was far more flexible than she was, which caused Eliza to frown when she found she couldn't stretch in the same way. She was, however, trying her best, and she supposed that had to be a plus, right?

Eleri rolled her eyes and sipped her tea. She had a very strong feeling that they'd be talking about her in the office. In fact, she was sure they were. She glowered slightly. Still, Eliza seemed to be trying, and that was something.
"Ok, I think that'll do. You should both be stretched enough now, I think we'll try the bleep test again. Without trying to melt your trainers this time, please." She added pointedly.
As she set the CD up again, she pointed out which end of the yard they should start at. "Just... try and keep pace with Kane, Flowers."

Tori stopped stretching and nodded. "Right, sarge." That earned her a Look. Obviously Eleri wasn't used to being called 'sarge'. "Sorry." She mumbled.
She perked up again at the mention of running. "Ooooh a bleep test. I haven't done one of them since about 9th Grade!" She took her place and, at the first beep, set off down the yard at a jog.

Myra drummed her fingers against the table once, before letting out a thoughtful humming noise.
"So we're a true, blue police force now then? Legally recognised and everything. Maybe we should have a celebration." Her lips quirked into a wry smile, "I expect someone has party poppers in here somewhere."
Pause.
"And if that someone isn't Hadrian, I'm going to be fairly disappointed."
He did seem to store everything and anything in that basement of his. Party poppers were a tame suggestion of what could be lurking down there.

He laughed a little embarrassedly, "I don't have any party poppers actually. I can make some though," he admitted brightly.

"Nobody makes party poppers quite like me." Wright said grudgingly. He was, of course, referring to the fact that they blew up a police station last time they had to create an explosion. While he didn't technically do it himself, being unconscious at the time, it had been his idea, and he tended to take credit for it. Especially given the mess it left them in.
"But we've always been a true police force. Just now, somebody over in Scotland Yard has remembered that we are. Probably means we're going to be facing even more paperwork." Wright grumbled grudgingly. "So let's hope Mortymer doesn't kill Flowers out there. Think we might be needing her."
