Incidentally, I had some amusing character ideas while I was at work. Add to that, it'll open up some extra avenues for RPs and stuff. These are just concepts for characters so if anyone feels like taking one and running with it, go for it. All yours. That is, if Austin agrees to let you have them.
Miranda Bouke, 32, Reporter for the Edgehaven Gazette. - A sensationalist writer with a habit of blowing everything out of proportion. - Crack shot with both Camera and Gun. - Ears of a fox, eyes of a Hawk, Tongue like a knife - there isn't a single event in Edgehaven that she will not find out about. - Her favourite things to write about is the decrepit Edgehaven Police Department, local rumours and, of course, the Night Watch.
Reginald Sweets - aka: Father Sweets, 68, Head Priest of St Michael's All Angels' Cathedral - Calm and controlled, an ex-army colonel, he gives good advice and his Confessional is extremely popular. - Tolerant of all species, but will not allow anything inhuman into the halls due to the protective seals etched into the building. - Supplier of Blessed Weaponry and Holy Water to whomever will use it to protect the innocent and vanquish evil.
Agitha Clothier - aka, Sister Agie, 73, Nun of St Michael's All Angels' Cathedral - Sunday School Teacher - Runs a local Soup Kitchen for the homeless and the poor - Demonologist (Think Cindy but more focused on all supernatural beings and how to protect oneself from an attack)
Bridget Waters[/color], 22, Night Stalker and Barmaid at The Edge - Fancies herself a bit of a Queen Bee amidst the Vampires under Kana's employment - Has a taste for the blood of children but will make exceptions for blonds, male or female - Is hot on Kana, Zack and Belle[/s] Sorry folks, I bagged Briggie for myself. XDD I can have a lot of fun with her.
Ian Payne, 46, Owner of Weapons'R'Us - A true Weapon's Master, he can use everything he sells with a frightening degree of skill - A competant blacksmith as he makes a fair few of the less exotic weaponry - Mercenary, he doesn't care who he sells his merchendise to as long as they pay
Jim McGunn, 38, Owner and worker at Cherubim Butchers - Damn good with knives - Makes a mean meat pie - A jolly scotsman

I can't remember what was going to happen with the whole zombie plotline, but I have a vague feeling we were going to scrap it? *shrugs* 'sup to Nik.
I'd quite like to get our little Vampire Elder in the EHPD thread in as a big bad or something, it'd be different, if very Silent Hill xD
I like the idea of a tense and unresolved ending, rather than an outright win/lose. Like I was saying to Jess the other day, I don't think Kana would get involved in the Carla/Watch fight unless they involved him in it, because the Watch have done him a favour. Think about it - Austin kills Vincent, Belle gets to deal with the aftermath in Edgehaven while Kana sods off to Global HQ, informs everyone that Vincent is dead and takes over in a nice, easy transition and is now more or less the richest vampire in the world and barely having to do any work. Austin's his freaking hero now xD
Also, Jess, loving the characters. I might have to steal Miranda, she seems fun xD (And then she can turn up in the Bottle behind Austin and make everything a million times worse xD) Somebody *has* to take Bridget, she'd be so much fun to have around. "Sure, we hate Belle, but she's so pretty...." xD

...Wright would hate every single one of those characters. With a passion.
I mean, more than he hates everybody else anyway...
I like the idea of our vampire elder as a villain, but I think that's definitely one Nik will have to see. I mean, for now, she's a baddie in a single thread. To have her as the big bad would be pretty large scale.
Although, I have some very specific ideas about her anyway really I need to share with you guys that might make her as a 'big bad' very ineffective. Basically, I imagine her arguing that locking themselves away and feeding off a few humans is for the good of the city, since otherwise, her brood would be killing hundreds as the years went by. It's the kind of twisted morality, 'better this than the alternative', which would present a bit of a challenge for the EHPD's usual crusading approach to justice.

As nobody has used this thread in a long time I thought I'd better reactivate it as I seem to keep using the welcome thread for OOC storyline planning. Anyway I'll get to the reason why I'm posting here. I have some ideas for future storylines and thought I'd post them to get some feed back to see if they are any good to use. I understand that we had come to the decision that Karla is going to do something to make The Night Watch look bad and so that public opinion of them falls. Then if Vincent returns bringing Romayne with him and they ally themselves with Karla (and anyone else who wishes to join them Belle, Dawn, Kana etc...). Vincent then makes a public speech telling everyone in Edgehaven (especially the Gazette) that he was attacked and almost killed by The Night Watch's leader Austin. Angering the public even more. Then Vincent and his allies set The Night Watch up, I'm not sure how but I'm sure we can come up with something. It'll have to be big enough so that the Watch become outlaws hunted by the people they were trying to protect. Vincent then goes before the council and is reinstated and because of his vow to hunt down and dispose of the Night Watch he is elected head councilman. Then Vincent sets the EHPD on The Night Watch. He also floods the EHPD with Vampire recruits loyal to him, a fact with I am aware Nicholas Wright would not be too pleased about. Under attack from all sides The Watch have to ally themselves with someone. Namely whoever hasn't joined Vincent and his allies, Kana, Belle / anyone else etc... and fight. This next idea might be a bit far fetched but how about this: As so much killing as gone on in Edgehaven the portal to hell opens again and Rino and a horde of demons are brought forth? Then everyone has to stop the fighting as they once again take on Rino and his demons in an Edgehaven wide battle. As no one else on earth can hold back the might of Rino and the armies of hell everyone turns to The Night Watch for help. Once again The Watch take on Rino and either: They defeat him, once again casting him into hell. Or perhaps he flees and as a last act of vengeance he could raise all those that have died in the town wide battle royal as zombies. So everyone goes from one battle to another fighting the fallen. After the zombie attack is quelled ,however long that would take, The Night Watch return hero's and saviors of Edgehaven. Vincent is forced to step down from head of the council and has to publicly apologize to Austin and the Watch. From there anything can happen. What does everyone think? Obviously this idea will be chopped and changed depending on what is decided but as a basic idea I think it could work. Once again I'm not stating that ANY of this HAS to happen. This is just an idea I had and was wondering what everyone would think of it. I'm also aware that its quiet Vincent central, sorry about that, but as he's mine I find it helps to see it from his point of view. Thanks for reading.

Hmm. Wright would be seriously PISSED at that, but it could be kind of fun, especially if it literally divides the EHPD and they start fighting each other.
But to me it feels a little like certain characters are missing. As you said, it's Vincent centric and that makes sense from your point of view, but there's a few other characters that I feel need to be worked in to it.
Firstly, Kana. Wouldn't it be more interesting if, since now he's used to being top dog, he starts his own Lemartes civil war and fights back against Vincent?
Secondly, Carla and Devil's Advocates (especially if Rino returned). Dishonouring the Night's Watch is Carla's plan, so she's presumably be more hands on with it, possibly working with Vincent?
You've then got Dawn in the mix, who could be interesting on the side of 'good', since a massive war would harm her brood and at the end of the day, she wants to protect her vampire line rather than do general 'evil'.
Finally, I'm kinda against having Rino come back, especially in that way. He was the Big Bad (but in many ways, the Biggest Bad of the TOTDverse, given he's behind the Demon War), but also rebelling against The Devil himself. If he was returned to Hell, he'd of been punished for his actions, and no longer in a position of power.
It'd be more interesting if Rino, if he ever returns to Earth, came as a herald of something even worse, possibly stripped of the majority of his powers by The Devil. (Especially since with the sword gone, Rino if he returns as he was is indestructable).

This site is the strangest one I've ever know for activity. So may times it's looked like its dead, then suddenly there is a burst of posting, then nothing. It looks as if no one else is going to comment on the above (at least not for the time being). I was hoping that more people would reply and that we could have a huge discussion with everyone adding there thoughts on TOTD and how different stories could unfold and ultimately that Nik would listen to all that was said and then tell us his decision for TOTD's future story lines. Alas it weren't meant to be. Thanks you for replying though Leigh. In answer to you. I've discussed Kana with Meg and for what I can gather Kana might come crawling back to Vincent for the simple fact that that is how it has always been for him. It might help for future story lines that Kana resents the fact that he was on top for a short time and then got brought to heel so quickly that it could fester inside him and eventually in the future he could strike back at Vincent. Or as you say he may refuse Vincent and try to continue being the top-dog. If that happens Vincent could ruin Kana. Remember Kana only has all Vincents wealth and power because it is believed that Vincent is dead. When he turns up alive Kana will have a hard job proving that he's not, especially because Vincent may have an ex-member of The Devils Advocate Law Firm working with him . As stated above, I think that Vincent, Romayne and Carla would work well together, even if it was only for a short period of time. I think that Vincent would see a lot of Belle in Carla, which is both good and bad. It might be fun to have Vincent referred to her as Belle on occasions as he would be so used to having Belle at his side. Then when he catches himself doing it he could become angry and bitter. Also if he continues to refer to Carla as Belle it could begin to drive a wedge between Romayne and Carla as Romayne could think that Carla is trying to get Vincent to see her in the same light as his adopted Daughter, although obliviously more to how she was before she took over his company and basically betrayed him . On the subject of Dawn I think that Vincent would know that Dawn was somewhere in Edgehaven and probably just spied on her (keeping a respectful distance of course) but wouldn't have interfered with her because it wasn't causing him any trouble at the time. But I see what you mean Dawn wouldn't look too kindly on Vincent and co causing trouble. It might be a good story to have her squaring off against Vincent in a vampyre standoff. And finally I see what you mean about Rino, as I said it was just an idea I had, but I can see what you mean. It would be good to have him return one day though. I liked him. He made a good villain. Also I would like to have him either square off against or join forces with Vincent. That would be fun! Sorry for not posting some of this in the Welcome Thread, but as I was the last person to post in there I guessed it would be forgotten about for several weeks or months until the next period of activeness.

Interesting ideas. Vincent referring to Carla as 'Belle' though would likely piss Carla off more than anybody else; Rino is the only person she ever answered too, she's not likely to like answering to Vincent again. She'd work with him, but to further her own goals, not as his underling. She's a villain in her own right, remember? I don't want her to become a Lemartes lackey. But she would work with him with the goal of ruining the Watch, but they should work together in tense sense, as if they don't really trust each other.
Vincent should know of Dawn's existance after the events in her tower, but not before. Remember, Dawn is a 2000 year old Vampyre, in many ways, she's Vincent's superior, she'd know how to keep off the radar. The trick with Dawn though is that she isn't like Vincent or other stereotypical 'evil' beings. She wanted to protect vampire kind (specifically, her brood, but her brood is SO massive after 2000 years it counts for a significant chunk of the vampire population) from extinction. That doesn't mean she's above striking at humans first, but only at low cost. So she's not quite the typical villain. If Vincent's plan endanger vampires though, she'd be at odds with him, and like I said, she's really not one to under estimate.
Sadly, this is an even larger problem with Rino, provided we write him the same. If he comes back, he's SUCH a powerful bad guy that (especially without the sword as his weakness) he would never work WITH anybody. He'd allow them to work FOR him, but not WITH him. And similarly, nobody can really challenge him in direct combat, because he's second to the Devil himself.
I loved writing Rino, and he was great fun as a villain, because he was THE big bad of the TOTD universe, but because of that, he's damn hard to bring back in a sense that would be anywhere near fair.
Unless we go with the 'stripped of his powers' storyline, which could be interesting. Especially if he did eventually claim them back and then turn on everybody...
